8 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, December 19, 1990 COMMUNITY Sue Hand's newest work on display Pine Brook Inn, Lower Demunds Road, Dallas, announces the exhi- bition of several of the most recent paintings by nationally recognized artist Sue Hand. Part of a series of “Sunlight” paintings, Hand created these artworks by literally pouring color onto the | paper. This complex procedure of ‘masking, pouring and spattering - produce an ethereal effect seem- ingly filled with light. Hand, a nationally recognized artist, works mostly in watercolor, casein, and ink. Working with light and shadow, she recently won two more international awards for her art work, one in competition in Washington, D.C. and one in Clear- water, Florida. In addition to the creation of the “Sunlight” series, paintings, Hand recently wrote and published her first book, A Dog Named Jamie. It was produced entirely in chancery cursive calligraphy and includes 129 ink drawn illustrations. It is also available through Pine Brook Inn. The Sunlight Series will be on exhibit through the holidays at the Pine Brook, during regular busi-- ness hours or by appointment. For more information, call 675- 3550.
