Born on the prairies of Sas- katchewan Canada in Osage, of U.S. citizens, she moved with them while in her teens to Iowa where she met her husband. She later traveled with him in the Govern- ment service to the East and West of the United States and spent two years in Sasebo, Japan and our years in Guam in the Marianas Island. The family lived in Trucksville and Shavertown from 1954 to 1964. She was a member of the hav, ertown Methodist Church and also a member of the Priscilla Circle. Surviving are her husband Milo " A., Alameda; daughters, Carolyn Sue Simpson of Guam and Melanie Anne Bauerly of Alameda; sister, Nelly L. Caldwell of Tavares, Fla.; grandchildren Henry Milo and Matthew Joseph Simpson of Guam. Interment was in the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, CA. DOROTHY CAMMAROTA Dorothy Pahler Cammarota, of Shunk St., Philadelphia, died Oct. 26, 1990, at her home. She had been sick for some time. She was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and William Pahler, Hazleton. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Worthy and Jospehine Polner Jayne. She graduated from Dorranceton High School and had resided in Dallas for the past 31 years. She had previously resided in Tunkhannock for many years. Before retiring, she was employed as a seamstress by McKettrick Dress Co., Tunkhan- nock. She was a member of the Trucksville Free Methodist Church, Trucksville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E., in 1959. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Isabel Reibel Hock. She was a graduate of Kingston Township High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes-Barre. She had been a resident of Shaver- town for the past 22 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse at Doctor's Hospital, New York City, and the American Red Cross, Hanover Township. She was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church. She was an Army veteran of World War II. She was also a member of the Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672, Dallas. Surviving are a sister, Isabel Voeste, Wilkes-Barre; and several cousins. Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. THOMAS OKAL Thomas P. Okal, 71, of Reno | Lane, Wilkes-Barre died Oct. 29, 1990 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Alifelong resident of the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Susan Hiscar Okal. Hewas a 1937 gradu- ate of Coughlin High School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 50, Wilkes-Barre. He was employed as a purchasing agent for 41 years at L&L Plumbing Supply Co., Wilkes-Barre, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Joseph's Slo- vak Church, Wilkes-Barre, and its Holy Name Society, also serving as an adult acolyte. He was preceded in death by brothers Joseph and Martin. Surviving are brothers, John, Trucksville;, Andrew, at home; Cyril, Wilkes-Barre; Albert, Cleve- land, Ohio; sister, Miss Mary Theresa Okal, at home; three nephews and two grandnieces. Born in Newport Township, he was the son of the late Alex and Mary Dzyacky Paluck. Mr. Paluck formerly was a fore- man at the Glen-Nan Coal Com- pany, and lastly was employed by the Department of Environmental Resources, retiring in 1982. Prior to retiring in 1978, he was employed as an optician for Par- rish Optical, previously working for the Berman Optical Co., Wilkes- Barre. He was the former owner and operator of the West Side Optical Co. of Luzerne. He was an Army veteran of World War II. She resided at Harveys Lake all her life. She was a 1934 graduate of Laketon High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in education from College Misericordia, Dallas, in 1938. Mrs. Worth taught geog- raphy, history and social studies at Laketon, Lake Noxen and the Lake-Lehman School Districts, from 1938 until retiring in 1974. She was also the coach of the girl's basketball team at Laketon and Lake Noxen, with many champi- onship seasons. She was a member of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, and was a Sunday School teacher and a member of its Women's Mission- ary Society. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lyman; sister, Mildred A. Garinger.
