Zion Baptist Choir of Wilkes-Barre, under the direction of Dr. Roosevelt Newson will pres- ent a concert at the Center More- land United Methodist Church, Sunday, April 29, at 6 p.m. The choir has performed abroad repertoire throughout Northeast Pennsylvaniaand NewdJersey. The choir performs diverse selections including anthems, negro spiritu- als, and gospels. Dr. Newson, a noted concert pianist, is known GALA CHOIR FESTIVAL SET - Area residents participating in the both locally and abroad. He has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, The Northeast Penn- sylvania Philharmonic and in Salzburg, Austria, Vienna, Brus- sels and London. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore. Free will love offering will be taken at the April 29 concert. Fellowship hour will follow. Public is invited. Choir Festival set for April 29 On Sunday, April 29, 7:30 p.m., engagement of their daughter, Karen E. Clemow to Jeffrey L. Gonzalez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson, of Clearwater, Florida. Miss Clemow is Vice President of Business & Family Insurors, Inc., Largo, Fla. Mr. Gonzalez is employed as Assistant Store- ‘keeper at Florida Power Corporation, Largo. The couple will exchange wedding vows on August 4, 1990 at First Assembly of God Church, Clearwater. Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Clearwater. Lunch with an author The Back Mountain Memorial Library “Friends of the Library” is sponsoring the second annual, “Luncheon With a Special Author” to be held Friday, April 27 at 12 noon at the Irem Temple Country Club.
