He was employed as a printer by the following companies: The for- mer Fensler Printery of Wilkes- Barre; The Dallas Post newspaper, Hughes Printery of Stroudsburg; and the Citizens’ Voice newspaper, Wilkes-Barre. He retired in June 1986. He was a member of the Inter- national Typographical Union and was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown. Born at Harveys Lake, she was the daughger of the late Austin C. and Arena Young Devens. She was a graduate of Dallas Township High School and Wyo- ming Seminary Business School. A resident of Dallas for most of her life, she had operated the former Devens Milling Co. in Dallas in association with her father, con- tinuing the business for 10 years after his death. She was a member of the Kunkle United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was a sister, Jennie Miers. Surviving are her husband, Harold R.; sister, Mrs. Vera Wert- man, Chambersburg. Surviving are a son, Wellington, Florida; daughter, Emma Ruth, California; foster son, Robert Koons, Oklahoma; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Shavertown. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Shavertown. MARK J. VOITEK Mark J. Voitek, 61, of Charles - Avenue, Kingston, died March 30, 1990 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following a lengthy ill- ness. Born in Centermoreland, he was the son of the late John T. and Lily Gerlach Voitek. He attended Tunkhannock area schools and had resided in the Kingston area most of his life. He was a co-founder and president of the Voitek TV and Appliance . Company, which was incorporated in: 1959 after operating as Mark's TV since the late 1950s. He founded the M. and D. Realty Co. in 1970 and was its president. He was also a member of the board of directors of the First Fidelity Bank, Wilkes- Barre. He was a U.S. Army paratrooper serving in the 11th Airborne Divi- son and was a member of the honor guard of General Douglas MacArthur. He was an avid reader of the history of the Wyoming Val- ley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack. Mrs. McDaniels was a member of the Larksville American Legion Post 655 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Larksville Birthday Club. She was preceded in death by a sister, Zelma Whiting. Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Jenkins Saunders. She graduated from Nanticoke schools and Wyoming Seminary. She resided in Nanticoke until 1953, when she moved to Dallas, where she resided for 10 years. For the past 25 years, she resided in Pine Grove. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Pine Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth 1., in 1952; sister, Margaret Volgaris, in 1969. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Ruth) Stolarick, Pine Grove, with whom she resided; brother, Garfield Saunders, Sweet Valley; two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. KINGSTON TOWNSHIP CAR CRASHES STORE AIR CONDITIONER Patrolman Walter Davis was dispatched to Hillside Farms Dairy Store parking lot where he reported that LoisJean Kulken of Trucksville while turning into the parking lot hit the accelerator instead of the brake and her car went over the concrete stopped and ran into the dairy store air conditioner. REAR-END COLLISSION On March 25, Sgt. James Balav- age investigated a two-car acci- dent on Hillside Road. He said a car driven by William B. Bell, Ply- mouth and a 1983 Renault driven by Agnes Tomasura, RD 7, Shav- ertown, were traveling east near the entrance to Hillside Dairy Farm Store. Bell slowed down to stop and was struck in the rear by Tomasuradriving the Renault, who said when she realized Bell was not moving she tried to apply the brakes but could not avoid strik- ing the car. DALLAS BOROUGH DUI CHARGE Patrolman James A. Martin cited Christopher T. Paynes, West Nan- ticoke, March 25, for driving under the influence of alcohol and also driving while license was sus- pended. Paynes will be arraigned before District Magistrate Earl Gregory. TWO CHARGED WITH SUPPLYING MINORS Patrolman James A. Martin charged Bradley Douglas Mrochko and Theodore Preston Stockely for providing liquor to minors and corruption of minors. Four minors inside of the car which was parked along Center Hill Road, Dallas, consuming alcohol were also cited. SIGN LETTERS TAKEN Larry Hilbert, Hilbert’'s Sales, RD 2, Harveys Lake Hwy., reported to police that a total of 37 letters had been taken from a portable sign in front of his business during the past month. Hilbert told police that the letters cost .75¢ each. CON JOB ON DALLAS SHOP OWNER Kathy O'Donnell, owner of Country Carousel, Dallas Shop- ping Center, Dallas, contacted police, March 23, to report that an Ashley Leary who said she was from Mountaintop, misrepresented her identity to charge items on a personal charge when O'Donnell wasn't there. The owners said the same person called and charged several times when owner was not in the shop. Dallas patrolmen investigated the post office box and address given by the individual and found they were false. Later another call from the owner told police that the suspect was in the store. When the police arrived and the suspect saw the police she fled from the store and headed south on foot in the shopping center. She went into another place of business and told the owner she ‘was being followed and the owner let the suspect out the back door and she escaped in her car. : The police are continuing the investigation.
