New Life Mission coming to Lehman United Methodist The Lehman United Methodist Church is sponsoring the New Life Mission from Sunday, March 18 through Thursday, March 22. Thomas Golightley baptized Thomas Scott Golightley, son of Tom and Amy Golightley of RD 4, Dallas, was baptized at the Ide- town UMC by the Rev. Michael Shambora. Dallas UMC puts finishing Major repairs and renovations have been underway on the Dallas United Methodist Church and parsonage since last August. The project was undertaken by the church under the direction of its Board of Trustees as part of the 100th Anniversary Celebration held last summer. The goal of the project was to upgrade the physical facilities for ministry as the church moved “Into the Next 100 Years!” A major component in the proj- ect is the complete rebuilding of the pipe organ. Fritzche Organ Company of Allentown, began working on the organ in October with the dismantling of the organ taking place in January of this year. The completion date is on or about March 1. Other projects now completed include a fully painted church and Project Head seniors meet Back Mountain Senior Citizens under Project Head, met recently in the lower level of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown with Joseph Precone presiding. Reports were given by the Secretary Betty Beline and the treasurer Kay Hudak. Membership chairlady Victoria Leo, reported 36 members in at- tendance. Sunshine chairlady Gert Miscavage, announced birthdays for March were Pat Baloga. Entertainment chairlady Lillian Soversky, announced the guest speaker for the March 15 meeting will be Dr. Jay Tanner from Pug- liese Eye Clinic. April 19 meeting, a movie of the Holy Land will be presented by Deacon James Fer- rick. Nick Pericci gave a report on FOSSCO, and interesting issues benefitting the people. Refresh- ments were served after the meet- ing by Florence Precone and Al Raye. New members are welcome. The club meets on the first and third Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. The club bowls every Tuesday morning at the Back Mountain Bowling, Dallas, at 10 a.m. ‘touches on renovations church school building, carpeting in the Prayer Room and Meeting Room, a fire security system, new sidewalks and steps surrounding the entire church building, and heating upgrades. A new church sign has been installed as well. The parsonage on Saginaw Street has been insulated and sided with vinyl siding, and a three room addition has been added. Much of the work has been possible through generous sup- port of the congregation. Memorial opportunities are still available as the work comes to an end. A sincere thanks to all who have helped the church get ready for “The Next 100 Years!” A special re- dedication service will be an- nounced soon pending the com- pletion of the remaining work.
