Break-ins (continued from page 1) Sabol admitted the crimes could be related, but said “I do not think so.” He pointed out that another similarity in the crimes may show the crimes are not related. “These crimes seem to be occur- ring on the main arteries (roads) leading into the Back Mountain,” he said. “If the incidents were occurring in one neighborhood, I might think the vandalism is being done by some locals.” Sabol explained that since the crimes cover such a large area, it is unlikely the crimes are related. “We live in an area that the roads allow people to go through quickly. Vehicles make people very mobile anymore,” Sabol said. He explained that many crimes com- mitted in the Back Mountain are quick, one-time strikes by out-of- town people. “Someone needs tires for their car, and Isaacs has expensive tires,” Sabol commented. “Or maybe they are taking them to sell.” What ever the reason for the crimes, Sabol insists the police be- lieve the incidents are unrelated. Arson ruled in car fire By SCOTT A. DAVIS Post Staff Carverton Auto Sales became latest victim of a rash of vandalism in the Back Mountain over the last few months after a car in the lot was set ablaze. : The Trucksville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a car fire at 3:58 a.m. Sunday morning at the car lot, located at 1518 West Eighth Street, Wyoming. The lot is owned by Jerry Karn. When fire and police personnel arrived at the scene, the car was totally engulfed in flames in the passenger area. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but the car was destroyed. : The fire in the 1981 Ford Fair- mont sedan began inside the ve- hicle, according to firemen. Fire- men are pointing to the area of the front seat as the starting point of the blaze. The fire was labeled arson. A Chevrolet Blazer parked next to the Fairmont sustained moder- ate damage from the flames, but did not catch fire. While checking the car lot fol- lowing the fire, police also found another car vandalized, according to police reports. A 1975 Volvo 242 DL was damaged on the front pas- senger door. Police said the Volvo was also vandalized. The investigating officer was Kingston Township Patrolman.
