One such group, “The Western Wind”, is scheduled as part of Wyoming Seminary’s Performing Arts Series on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m. in the Buckingham Performing Arts Center, Sprague Avenue, Kingston. Free and open to the public, the show will feature six vocal virtuo- sos whose specialty is...everything! This “acapella” group will sing Fifties “do-wop” and Renaissance motets, Medieval carols and bar- bershop quartet, avant garde pieces and folk melodies. In America, the Ensemble has appeared at many distinguished institutions including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, ArtPark, New York’s Metropolitan Museum and Frick Museum, Folger Shakespeare Library, Library of Congress, Cleve- land Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, Wellesley College, and the In Europe, the sextet taped early and contemporary American vocal music for the West German National Radio (WDR) at Cologne and made several triumphant tours of northern Italy, performing Italian Renaissance as well as American music. The group has appeared with the RAI Orchestra and Chorus of Rome, at the Rome Opera, and at Venice's legendary opera house, La Fenice.
