DENMON Staff Writer ‘The Lake-Lehman Knight wres- tlers continued undefeated going into this week after beating Wyo- ‘ming Area 31-21 Saturday night and Hanover Area 59-8, Wednes- day night. The Knights win over Wyoming Area leaves only Valley West and Lake-Lehman undefeated al- though the Knights have a tie on their record as a result of the | Meyers match two weeks ago. In Saturday night's competi- tion, the Knights were behind 19- 17 after WarriorJason Prokopchak decisioned Mike Tereska 9-0, but they refused to give up and came back with two decisions, a pin and a draw to pull in Front 31- 21 and take the meet. The Warriors took an early lead in the early bouts when 103-lb. Steve Barrett pinned Mark Longm- ore in 27 seconds and 112-lb. Jason Randazzo wrestled to a 5-5 draw with Knight Charles Roper. The Knights put points on the board when 119-1b. Chris Smith took a 4-3 decision from Warrior Dave Stahley. 125-1b. Knight Charlie Jacoby flattened Keith Smith in 3:52 to add six points. 130-1b. Warrior Mark Granteed took an 11-3 bout from Dave Konopke then 135-1b. Knight Rich Peiffer edged out Sam DeAngelo 6-5 but 140-lb. Warrior Jeff Pas- coe defeated Jason Clancy 9-2. ~ 145-1b. Terry Martin took a 7-2 decision from Warrior Andy Vavrek before 152-1b. Prokopchak deci- sioned Mike Tereska. 160-1b. Mike Guerin defeated Keith Irace 16-9 and 171-1b. J.P. Goodwin decisioned Warrior Jeff Pepe 9-6. 189-1b. Ray Rosencrans gave the Knights six points by flattening Jim Fitzgerald in 2:59 and Hwt. J.J. Konigus gave the Knights their final two points by wrestling to a 5-5 draw with Warrior Chris Sickle. In their meet with Hanover, the Knights lost the 103-1b. bout when Hawk Bob Kocher flattened Longmore in 58 seconds. They went to work after that to take 11 of the next 12 bouts with six pins, 1 a forfeit, a technical and three de- cisions. Pins were recorded by 112 C. Rober, 125 C. Jacoby, 130 R. Peif- fer, 135 D. Konopke, 189 P.J. Goodwin and Hwt. J.J. Konigus. Terry Martin won on a forfeit and 160-1b. Mike Guerin won on a technical fall over Sean Wozniak. The decisions were won by 119 Chris Smith, 145-1b. Jason Clancy and 189-1b. Ray Rosencrans. The Knights host Hazleton Wednesday and Berwick Satur- day. Strikes 'n’ spares G.H. In the Native Textiles League the Pinheads blanked the Roadrunners in the first week of the second half paced by R. Strazdus’ 546 and D. Swan's 218. R. DeRemer rolled 539 for the runners. Beer Bowlers shut out Taft Market aided by Robin Teetsel's 178 and Hopeless Cause picked up 3 1/2 points from Bad News Bowlers sparked by J. DeRemer’s 530. The Bad News gang were headed by R. Clemow 550 and B. Clemow’s 181-170-188 (539). Ballbusters took three from the Alley Cats paced by D. Miller's 576 and L. Wolfe's 558. Karen Schooley added 195. J. Teetsel rolled 210 (580) and E. Smith hit 568. Sandbaggers copped three from the Wild Pins aided by Terri Williams 170-192 (488). Ida Engel- man hit pins for 172 for the Wild Pins. Larry rolled 216 (562) for the Saints in the Sunday Night Mixed League but it was good for only one point as Joe S. hit 237 (561) for Twice Shy. Noctour De Force copped three from the Eagles with no one hitting high scores. Destroyers took three from the Toads aided by John Gebhardt's 227 (582). In the Sunday Night Couples League Matthews blanked Moores while Booth’s took three from Nice and Shaver’s picked up three from Wilson's. High scorers were Marie Nice 190 (497), H. Shaver 522, D.
