Cxc.... The Dallas Rotary Club recently took 30 children from the Lake- Lehman and Dallas School Dis- tricts on a big Christmas shopping spree. i Members of Dallas Rotary, along with many of their wives, accom- panied each child. First the chil- dren were provided with breakfast of pancakes and orange juice at McDonald's in Shavertown. From there they were taken to Pomeroy's Department Store in the Midway Shopping Center where store offi- cials welcomed the children and “turned us loose” to shop. Parents had prepared a list of clothing needed and sizes to assist Rotari- ans in their purchasing. Many children needed shoes or boots. and they were taken to the J.Si Raub Shoe Store and fitted by stordily personnel. <4 At the end of the shopping spree everyone assembled in the meet+ ing room at Pomeroy's and. the! children were given punch, cook ies, candy, popcorn, candy canes; and Santa appeared with addi tional gifts for all children. ; Dallas Rotarians returned the: children to their homes and truly. felt the spirit of Christmas. We are; not sure who had the most delight! in the shopping spree, the children or the “Dallas Rotary Parents” who witnessed the excitment and hap+ piness in the eyes of the children’ ® ¥ Fellowship church to add worship service j.
