Lake-Lehman (continued from page 1) “It will be a challenge and excit- ing to meet such needs as those that have gone before us. Team- work between the board, taxpay- ers, administrators and parents is a must to be successful. I will endeavor to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors and I ask all to accept that challenge, “ Fritzen concluded. The retiring president Marc Elgaway in his closing remarks said that one thing he learned during the past year was that making decisions is a difficult process. “We had many decisions to make during the pastyear,” Elgaway said. “We appointed a new supérvisor of curriculum, we added new courses, decided to field a girls soccer team, established a strong attendance policy, approved plans for the high school and amicably negotiated for a five year contract for the teach- ers. : “It was an honor and a privilege to serve as president and I extend my thanks to the taxpayers, to the teachers, to the superintendent, to the parents and to the secretary of the board.” Dr. Charles Borchetta, school superintendent, said’ he had planned to present the three de- parting board members with plaques and the PSBA award to Ed Mark for his 14 years of service but none of the three ex-board members were present. Borchetta also pledged the administration's spirit of coopera- tion as he welcomed the new members and said he would work with them to make Lake-Lehman continually better. He thanked Elgaway for the fine job he did the past year and for his excellent leadership and presented him with a token of appreciation. Judge Robert Hourigan admini- stered the oath of office to new board members, Mildred Sue Dobash, Martin A. McMahon, Jr., Kenneth Williams and re-elected incumbent Joseph ‘Red’ Jones.
