The soldier is a platoon sergeant with the 26th Support Battalion. Krench is the son of William and Mary Krench of 408 Walnut St., Luzerne. His wife, Ann, is the daughter of William and Ann McHale of 134 Manor Drive, Shavertown. In 1973 Krench graduated from Central Catholic High School, Kingston. He received an associate degree in 1980 from Grossment College, El Cajon, California. Mark J. Lubinski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lubinski, of Pop- lar St., Dallas, enlisted in United States Air Force recently, accord- ing to Ssgt. Dave Filchak, Air Force recruiter for the Dallas area. Upon successfully completing the Air Force's six week basic mili- tary training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, mark will receive training in the Admin- istrative Area. Mark is a 1989 graduate of Dallas High School. . Army National Guard Private Christian N. Darrow has com- pleted basic training at Fort Polk, La. During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map read- ing, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, firstaid, and Army Rogers, secretary. history and traditions. Darrow is the son of Beth A. and William R. Neal of Lehman. New member of Back Mountain Kiwanis Mr. George R. Gwilliam was accepted as a new member of the Back Mountain Kiwanis Club at a recent breakfast meeting at Pickett's Charge Restaurant, Dallas. Mr. Gwilliam is a resident of Harveys Lake and is a member of the City Council there. He will be formally inducted into the club during a future meeting. Roderick has recently become one of 16 bankers from throughout the nation tobe named to the Home Equity Lending Com- mittee of the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA). A senior vice president at First Eastern Bank, Roderick isin charge of retail lending, which includes residential mortgages, consumer installment loans, revolving credit and auto leasing. The mission of the committee Roderick serves is to act as a spokesgroup for the industry, coordinate lobbying positions and provide education for industry participants on a national scale. An additonal role of the committee is to keep open the lines of commu- nication for secondary markets for securities backed by these loans. The committee also oversees production of the National Equity Lending Survey conducted by the Center for Financial Services Study at the McIntire School of Com- merce at the University of Virginia. The CBA's Home Equity Lend- ing Ccmmittee meets three times yearly to monitor individual devel- opments and develop positions on issues for the parent organization. Based in Alexandria, VA, the CBA is composed of representatives from retail banks, savings and loans and credit unions. Robert A. Roderick Roderick was graduated magna cum laude from King’s College with a BS degree in Business Admini- stration. He earned his MBA from Wilkes College and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Asso- ciation School of Banking at Buck- nell University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
