Auxilians are once again raffling a $20,000 cash prize, for which 350 tickets will be sold at $100 each. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any auxiliary member or by calling Wilkes-Barre General Hospital's Auxiliary Office at 829-8111, exten- sion 2935. Irem Potentate's Ball held July 22 | The Potentate’s Ball, which was entitled “Simply Elegant”, took place Saturday, July 22 at the Irem Temple Country Club, Dal- las. Potentate Walter H.R. Mohr and his lady, Mary, were escorted to the stage by his Chief Aide, Noble Alfred Luff. Members of Irem's Divan, Past Potentates of Irem Temple, visiting dignitaries from other Shrine Temples, the Right Worshipful Grand Master of the Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, Brother Arthur J. Kurtz, and their ladies were wel- comed and introduced. The Legion of Honor Color Guard, under the command of Theodore R. Luff, presented the colors. The Chanters Unit, of which Potentate Mohr is amember, under the direction of Walter J. Rice, flanked the Honor Aisle. The Girl Scouts hold first day camp Berrett, a Brownie from Troop 712. Penn's Woods Girl Scout Council, Neighborhood 25 of Trucksville and Shaver- town, recently held its first annual Day Camp. The neighborhood held a name the camp contest. The winning entry “Camp Mocanquah” was submitted by Lisa - Approximately 100 Girl Scouts attended the week long camp held at Frances Slocum State Park. The theme of the camp was “Pioneer Days”. The program's | goal was to increase the girls understanding of both Native Americans and the Early Settlers. Ms. Carol Tchaikowsky of the Dennison Homestead presented a special program on what it was like to be a child living in the colonial period. Activities included nature programs, hikes, swimming, singing, games and crafts. The Girl Scouts, who will be going into the seventh grade, participated in a special advanced program which included an overnight camp out. Cadette Girl Scouts acted as program aides for the younger Scouts. A social hour starting at 5:15 p.m. and a dinner at 6:30 p.m. preceded the gala affair. The Din- ing and Terrace Rooms, where dinner was served, were decorated in white and gold and were en- hanced by table linens of the same colors.
