Misericordia hosts Judaic studies College Misericordia and the Jewish Community Center recently co-sponsored a Judaic Studies Week as part of the College's 14th Annual Elderhostel Summer season. The week long residential program attracted 90 participants from nine states. Dunham home from Germany Dennis Dunham of 176 Parrish ~ St., Dallas, has returned home July 15 after spending a two week vaca- tion with his brother, Thomas and family in Elsenberg near Frankfort, Germany. Dennis left Scranton/Wilkes- Barre airport June 29 at 3:50 p.m. arriving at Frankfort, Germany at 8:15 a.m. on June 30. Dennis enjoyed his vacation, sightseeing with his brother, sis- ter-in-law and nieces. Thomas Dunham is an officer in the U.S. Army station in Germany. This was Dennis’ first air trip. He enjoyed it very much but was glad to get back home. Son born to the Smiths July 4th Robert G. and Linda M. Smith announce the birth of their first child, a son, Robert G., Jr. on July 4, 1989. Robert G. Sr. is the son of Ruth J. Smith and the late William A. Smith of Centermorland. Linda is the daughter of Lynn and Donna Ashworth of Trucksville. Maternal great-grand- parents are Mrs. Laura Wheeler of Truckville and Mr and Mrs. Lynn Ashworth Sr., of Dallas. fal Samuels celebrate 50th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Howard T. Samuels of Dallas, recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They were marriedJuly 17, 1939 in the Kingston Methodist Church, now the Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston by the late Rev. Norman Clemens. Mrs. Samuels is the former Laura B. Davis, daughter of the late Reese G. and Laura Davis, formerly of Forty Fort. Mr. Samuels is the son of the late Thomas J. and Edith Samuels formerly of Kingston. They are the parents of twin daughters, Sharon Kay Foley of Mt. Laurel, NJ. and Karen Lee Manin of Marlton, N.J. They have five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A family dinner was hosted by their children at the Chart House Restaurant at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia with a gift of a vaca- tion at Walt Disney World in Flor- ida.
