Sister Mary Eloise McGinty of College Misericordia died at McGann Hall, Dallas, on Tuesday, July 4, 1989. Born Feb. 6, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and ~ Mary Dowling McGinty of Sugar Notch. Educated in the public schools of Sugar Notch and St. Mary's High Schools of Wilkes- Barre, Sister entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1931 and was professed in August 1933. She received the B.S. degree in Secretarial Science from College Misericordia. She did graduate study at Fordham Uni- versity, earning an M.S. in Educa- tion. While Sister taught a few years on the elementary level, most of her teaching career was spent on the college campus. She taught one year at Mt. Aloysius Jr. College in Cresson, Pennsylvania and the remaining years in Dallas. She was Chairperson of the Business De- partment and for many years, secretary to the Academic Deans of College Misericordia. In 1966 she became Registrar of the Col- lege, a post she held until her MARY MISKIEL Mary Miskiel, of Frederick Street, Kingston, died July 3, 1989, in the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, King- ston. Born in Liverpool, England, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Antonia Dickowski Palevich. She had resided most of her life in Kingston and Harveys Lake. Mrs. Miskiel was a member of the Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, in 1954; a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Milunich, 1973; grandson, Michael Milunich, 1985. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Monica Coach, Kingston; Mrs. Barbara Rees, Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Martha Consavage, Kingston; three grandchildren. Interment was in St. John's ~ Cemetery, Dallas. JOSEPH KAPISOVSKY Joseph Kapisovsky, 75, RD 1, Dallas, died July 9, 1989 in the Wilkes-Barre Mercy Hospital. . Born in Laurel Run on October 14, 1913, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kovach Kapisovsky. Prior to retirement, he had been employed with the Newark, N.J. shipyards, and the Yordy Printing Co., Wilkes-Barre. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Watkins, Hanover Township; brother, Peter Kapioski, Renton, Wash.; several nieces and neph- ews. Interment will be in the Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Twp., at the convenience of the family. LELLA ZERFOSS Mrs. Lella Zerfoss, 82, of Moore- town, RD, Sweet Valley, died July 9, 1989 at her home. ~ Born March 26, 1907 in Dor- ' rance, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Alice Goss Wandel. Maintaining a great interest in athletic activities, she was long- time Moderator of the Athletic Association of the College, McGinty Gym was named in her honor. Throughout the years she was very active in alumni affairs. In 1983 the Directors of College Mis- ericordia Alumni Association pre- sented her with The Hilda Staub Garey Award for outstanding serv- ice and commitment to the Alumni Association. Many remember her as a primary fund-raiser among alumniduring the Annual Phon-a- thon. In 1987 the Board of Trustees of College Misericordia awarded her the Catherine McAuley Medal “in recognition of a lifetime of compas- sionate service.” Surviving her are a brother, Joseph, of Edison, N. J.; sisters, Anna McGinty and Mary Ryan of Brooklyn; Margaret Wotman, Lakehurst, N.J.; many nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Sisters of Mercy plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. ALBERT TORR Albert E. Torr, of 24 Highland Drive, New Goss Manor, Dallas, “died July 8, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Plains Township, following a pro- longed illness. Born in Avoca, he was a son of the late Floyd S. and Elizabeth Lampman Torr. He lived in Wyo- ming Valley all his life. He was a graduate of Avoca High School and he attended Fran- klin and Marshall College, Lan- caster. He was employed as a sales- man for many years by the Zoeller Paper Company. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in Africa and Italy. He retired from the armed services with the rank of Captain. He was an active member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church; Moosic Lodge 664, F&AM; Keystone Consistory and Irem Temple. He was also a member of the Retired Officers Association. Surviving are his wife, the for- mer Jane Llewellyn; two sons, Jeremy L. and C. Scott, both of Dallas; daughter, Mrs. Reid (Jen- nifer) Davenport, Dallas; two sis- ters, Mrs. Betty Paterson, Marion, Ohio and Mrs. Marilyn Algar, Dickson City, Pa.; three grandchil- dren and three stepgrandchildren. Cobleigh, of Luzerne Towers, Bennett Street, Luzerne, died July 4, 1989 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Loyalville, he was the son of the late Bennett and Helen Mayer Cobleigh. He was a former resident of the Back Mountain, residing in Luzerne for the past five years. Downs, RD 2, Hun- lock Creek. Downs said she was traveling south on Route 309 in the left hand passing lane. Mazar was charged with viola- tion of required position and method of turning. Word was received July 9 that Mazie Mazar died in the Nesbitt Hospital where she was addmitted following the accident. CHARGED WITH RECKLESS DRIVING Patrolman Charles Rauschkalb investigated an accident on July 2 on Route 309 near Dorchester Drive in which he reported that a car driven by Lori Ann Smith of King- ston, was struck by one driven by Scott Adams. Adams was cited for reckless driving and entering or crossing a road. DRUGS TAKEN IN BREAK-IN AT OFFICE Chief John Fowler investigated a burglary, June 30 at the Dallas Family Practice in which someone made entry by throwing a garbage can cover through a window and unlocking a door. They apparently went to the drug cabinet and forced open the door and removed vari- ous kinds of narcotics. Investiga- tion is continuing. YOUTH SERIOUS AFTER DALLAS ACCIDENT Patrolman James J.
