Brennan was President of the Board of the VNA's “sister” agency, Homemaker Serv- ices of Luzerne County, for two years, and served as a member for another six years. He also was a Director of the Home-Care Man- agement Board for five years. John N. Roberts of Nanticoke was hon- ored for 10 years of service to the VNA Board. The VNA family of agencies has been serving the home health care needs of the community since 1908. As a United Way member agency, the VNA is the only area home health agency which helps all eligible patients regardless of their ability to pay. The date has been set for Sunday, May 21, and June 4 as the rain date. All participants of previous races will be receiving registration applications and sponsor pledge forms in the mail. New participants are encouraged to join in any or all of the 25 mile scenic ride through the Back Mountain. The ride will begin at the Dallas Senior High School at 9 a.m. For every $5 of pledges a participant turns into the Ameri- can Cancer Society, on the day of the ride, he/she will receive a ticket. After May 21, one ticket will be given for every $10 of pledge money. All tickets will then be placed in a drawing for a Schwinn 10 speed racing bike. All riders will receive a biking water bottle. Trophies will be given as follows: the Peter Weaver Me- morial Trophy will go to the per- son who has raised the most money; and trophies will go to the youngest rider, the oldest rider, and the rider who has the most sponsors. Camping periods are one week long, beginningJune 19 thru August 25. Enrollment is open to boys and girls between the ages of six and 14. Day Camp offers exciting activi- ties which include archery, swim- ming, boating, hiking and even a Friday afternoon barbecue. Rainy day activities are held at local theatres, bowling alleys and the YMCA. The Day Camp staff is a trained and qualified group of men and women who help plan and supervise all activities. In addition to the Day Camp, the YY’ will be holding Sports Camps this summer. The camps will run for one week from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., after which the camp- ers will enjoy regular Day Camps activities.
