Reese of Dallas has announced her candidacy for reelection as the Republican Jury Commissioner in Luzerne County for the May 16, 1989 Primary Elec- tion. The two-term incumbent Jury Commissioner has received the endorsements of the Back Moun- tain Republican Association, Hanover Township Republican Association, First Legislative Dis- trict Republican Committee members (Hazleton) and the Luzerne County Republican Ex- ecutive Committee. An active and life-long Republi- can, Reese is the Committee member for the South District of Dallas Borough, a position she has held for more than 20 years. She is a member of the Luzerne County Council of Republican Women, as the corresponding secretary, and the president of the Back Mountain Republican Asso- ciation. In his first try for elected office, Gavigan says he plans to keep the high quality of the township's po- lice and road departments as well as assist the ambulance crew and Shavertown and Trucksville fire companies. A resident of Kingston Town- ship for 49 years, Gavigan gradu- ated from Kingston Township High School and attended Lackawanna County Community College in Scranton. He is a U.S. Navy vet- eran.
