Phillips, Sr., Center Moreland, and LCPL Earl E. Arrowood, son of Mr. and marriage Friday, December 30,. 1988, at the Center Moreland United Methodist Church. Rev. Birney D. Kellogg performed the candlelight, double ring ceremony before an altar of Christmas greens and red poinsettias. The sanctuary was decorated through- out with large red bows. Candlebearers were: Jonathan Weaver, Christy and Sarah Reid, Chrissy Schoonover, Abbie Robinson, and Jessica Arrowood. Also particpating in the service were Stacey Schoonover, Tina Arrowood and Terri Ann Phillips. Mrs. Penn Reid was the organist with Nancy Rought and Rev. Birney D. Kellogg as soloists. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She chose Suzanne Schooner to be her maid of honor. Karen Edwards, cousin of the bride was her junior bridesmaid. The groom chose Charles A. Henning as his best man. Thomas H. Edwards, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer. Ushers were Robert E. Phillips Jr. and Kevin Ketchum. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Northmore- land Township Fire Hall, Center Moreland. A rehearsal party was hosted by the bridegroom's parents in the Center Moreland United Methodist social room. The bride was honored at a picnic variety bridal shower hosted by her attendants and family, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Major, Center Moreland. Mr. and Mrs. Arrowood are both graduates of Tunkhannock Area High School. the bride is also a graduate of Empire Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre. The groom is serving with the United States Marine Corps and is stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After his tour of duty in Japan, the couple will reside in Yuma, Arizona. The bride's grandparents are Ms. Elizabeth Fuller, Center More- land and Ernest Fuller, Florida and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Phil- lips, Dallas. Great-grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. George Bliss, Sr., Center Moreland. The bridegroom's grandparents are, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Winnie, Tunkhannock and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Arrowood, Stuart, Fla. and Mehoopany. PPPOE REBDB Mrs. Bruce R. Arrowood, Okeechobee, Florida, were united in Program on colonial era music at Misericordia Dr. Harry Mechell will present a demonstration called “Music that Washington Knew”, on Wednes- day, April 19 at 4 p.m., in Regina Hall. The program is in celebration the 200th anniversary of George Washington's Inaugural. Mechell will discuss the impor- tant place music and dance held in colonial times. An ensemble of 12 singers will assist by performing period music. Dr. Mechell studied under some of the nation’s leading conductors. As a choral singer he sang with major orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony. Dr. Mech- ell also conducted high school choirs which toured extensively throughout the East Coast and Europe. Back Mountain Kiwanis elects new officers Officers for the 1989-90 ad- ministrative year were elected at "the Back Mountain Kiwanis Club’s April 15 meeting at Picketts Charge Restaurant, Dallas. The newly elected officers are: Leonard Rog- inski, President; Clem Norman, 1st Vice Preisent; Rita Welebob, 2nd Vice President; Steve Klaboe, Treasurer. Board Members - 3 years, Larry Frazier; 1 year - Paul Menapace and Gus Faerber. The club’s projects for the weekend are Roadside clean-up along Highway 118 between Route 415 and Lehman; and the sale of chocolate “Kisses for Kids” at the Wyoming Valley Mall on April 21 and 22. The proceeds from this sale go to the Children’s Hospital Center at Geisinger Medical Cen- ter. Fashion show at Lake-Noxen school The Harveys Lake Women's Service Club is sponsoring a Spring Fashion Show on April 19, at 7 p.m. at the Lake-Noxen Elementary School, Harveys Lake. The Spring Fashion Show will be featuring stores from the Back Mountain. They are the Fieldhouse, New York Connection, Heart cf Fashion, Back Street Fashions, Country Classics, Deja Vu’ Boutique of the Bay Window, La Lingerie, Humphreys, D’s Bridal and Antique Clothing. Door prizes have also Marilyn Ward and Douglas Roseman Marilyn Ward to wed Douglas Roseman announce the engagement of their daughter, Marilyn L. Ward to Douglas G. Roseman, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Roseman, Brookville, Pa. Miss Ward is also the granddaughter of of Mrs. Helen Lech of Dallas. The bride-to-be is a 1986 graduate of Dallas High School and will graduate in December 1989 from Indiana University where she is currently majoring in Mathematics. Her fiance is a 1985 graduate of Brookville Area High School. He is currently a senior chemistry major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The couple is planning a December 1989 wedding. Mr. and Mrs. William M. Ward, RD 6, Dallas, are pleased to been donated by other Back Mountain businesses. Proceeds from the Show will go towards the club’s Scholarship Fund.
