Dallas United Methodist Church The Dallas United Methodist Church will be celebrating two special Holy Week services. The community is encouraged to attend. A Maundy Thursday Communion Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Michael Bealla will be administering the sacrament of Holy Communion and share a message entitled, “In Remembrance of the Upper Room.” The following evening, March 24, at 7:30 p.m., an evening Good Friday Service is set. This will be a tenebrae service featuring the choir and the theme of “Surely He Has Borne Our Grief”. : Easter Sunday service will begin at the usual 10:30 a.m. hour with special pre-service music beginning at 10:15 a.m. Church School will be held at the usual 9 a.m. hour. Community Church of Dallas The Community Church of Dallas will celebrate “The Joy of The Resurrection” at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 26. This will be a service of praise, singing and special music. At 10:30 a.m., “The Glory of The Resurrection” will be celebrated. This service will consist of a musical presentation by the choir entitled, “To God Be The Glory” by Edward Kee. The message by Pastor Dale Brown will be “By His Stripes.” Sunday School will not be held on this Sunday due to the special services. Everyone is invited to attend these services. Back Mountain churches plan cooperative Good Friday services On Good Friday, March 24, the Back Mountain Churches are plan- ning a cooperative observance. The Protestant Churches will begin with a Good Friday Service at 1:30 p.m. at the Trucksville United Methodist Church, led by the Reverends James Shillabeer, Mary Ricketts, Harold Baer and Michael Bealla. The Catholic serv- ices are as follows: St. Therese’s in Shavertown at 2 p.m. and Gate of Heaven Church in Dallas at 3 p.m. There will be a joint effort on the part of all the churches in a Pro- cession of the Cross. The Proces- sion will form at 2:30 p.m. at the Trucksville United Methodist Church, proceed up Pioneer Ave- nue to St. Therese's Church. Per- sons from various churches will join in the Procession as it contin- ues through Shavertown and Dal- las, through the Meadows Apart- ment area to Mercy Center Chapel. Here, abrief Commemorative Serv- ice will be conducted under the guidance of Fr. John Petrasko and Sister Cindy March. The public is invited to join in the Procession at any point of the route.
