DENMON Staff Writer A general meeting of the Dallas Elementary Parent Teachers Or-: ganization was held Wednesday, March 1, 7:30 p.m., in the school. Mrs. Mary Nulton, third grade teacher and teacher consultant for the Northeastern Pennsylvania Writing Project, presented a pro- gram “How to Help Your Child Become A Better Student Through Writing.” The workshop presented sound ideas and activities to help parents prepare their children with readi- ness for the important communi- cation skill of writing. Mrs. Nulton has presented workshops at the annual confer- ences of the Northeastern Penn- sylvania Council at Luzerne County Community College and Scranton University. She recently conducted workshops for teachers in-serv- ices at Dallas and Hanover Area School Districts. Association at the State Correctional Institution at Dallas made a presentation of a check in the amount of $2,614 tothe Penn's Woods Girl Scout Council after selling 1,307 boxes of cookies. Making the presentation were L.I.F.E. Association Board Mem- bers: Michael V. Daffodil Days delayed by freeze The American Cancer Society has announced that this year’s Daffodil Days have been postponed for two weeks due to a freeze in the state of Washington. Datfodil Days will be observed from March 24 to 31 instead of March 13 to 17. The fresh cut flowers will be sold for $4.00 for a bunch of 10, and can be ordered by calling the A.C.S. office at 825-7763.
