Bowling news The holiday week shortened the league action at Back Moun- tain Bowl as leagues took time off to host or attend Yuletide parties. Some of the leagues showed up to bowl and turned in the following results. In the Roth Novelty-Back Mountain Classic League, Wally Moore of Ridano’s Pizza team burned the lanes with a 240-242 (674) and Mark Schmoll hit a big 221-225-211 (675) to lead their team to taking all from Davis Trophy. Emory rolled 523 and Betty hit pins for 176 (477) to pace the Colts to taking all from the Fieros. Tempos blanked the Chargers while Aries picked up three points from the Yugos. The Benz team took three from the Cierras despite Jim rolling 510 for the Cierra five. Two weeks reports from the Back Mountain Farmers League had the Turkeys taking four from the Moo Moos and earlier four from the Chickies. Ugly Ducklings shut out the Chickies and the week prior dropped three to the Moo Moos. The Thoroughbreds dropped three to the Mules and the week before lost three to the Barn Cats.
