DENMON - Staff Writer Dallas Borough Manager Robert Brown's resignation is effective December 31, 1988, and he recently spent a few minutes talking about his two year tenure and his plans. ~ Council members were hoping that Brown would withdraw his resignation prior to the end of the year but Brown said he never intended to stay for a long term of office. “Since I have been here my secretary and I have set up a new filing system; we submitted applications for various grants, cleaned out old files and papers that were outdated and purchased necessary office equipment,” Brown said. Brown said he thought he gave the council plenty of time to hire someone else for his position. “I will come in and help a new person, if necessary,” Brown stated. “My wife and I had wanted to go south for a while but there has been a change in our plans.” Brown said he has received resumes from four applicants who 7 Bob Brown Brown said he never intended to stay in the office for a long term are L. He was charged with homicide by a vehicle while driving under the in- fluence; involuntary manslaughter; and two summary traffic violations. Car phone stolen Dallas Township Police Chief Carl Miers investigated a report from Harold Ruth, Park Street, Dallas, December 19. Ruth, a contractor told Miers that during the night a window was broken and a car phone was taken from his pickup truck parked on a job site on Overbrook Avenue, Dallas. Kingston Township Leaves scene of accident Kingston Township Patrolman Robert Weiss was called to the scene of an accident in Meadowcrest on December 18 where he said that Susan E. Murdock, of Meadowcrest, driving a 1987 Ford, struck a parked 1979 Subaru owned by John E. Campbell of West Pittston, then left the scene of the accident. Damage to Campbell's vehicle was extensive and the vehicle had to be towed. One hour after the accident, police discovered the Ford parked at the operator's place of residence and discovered she was driving without . a license. Murdock was cited for driving without a license and for leaving the scene of an accident. Two car crash on 309 Kingston Township Sergeant J. J. Balavage investigated a collision December 14, on Route 309, in front of Pen Fern Gas Station on Route 309. Stanley E. Thomas, RD 3, Tunkhannock, driving a 1988 Chev- rolet, was exiting the station onto Route 309 and travel north. Marga- ret R. Scheitrumphf, Hazlet Street, Wilkes-Barre, was driving north on» 309 when Thomas turned from the’ station into the northbound lane of the highway and was struck by the Scheitrumphf vehicle.
