Born in West Wyoming, she was the wife of the late Peter Ardoline, who died in 1962. Her maiden name was Savage. She lived in West Wyoming until 1962, when she moved to Harveys Lake. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrow Church in West Wyoming. Her son, Robert Ardoline, was killed in World War II. Surviving are two daughters, Lorraine Marchesini of West Wyo- ming and Sonya Getz of Stroudsburg; five grandchildren and . four great-grandchildren. 4 Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. MARGARET WAGNER Margaret (Peg) A. Wagner, 84, of Shaver Ave., Shavertown died Nov. 14, 1988 in Nesbitt Memorial Hos- pital, Kingston. Born in Gouverneur, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late John and Nellie Crossman Williams. She was a former resident of Wilkes-Barre and Forty Fort and has resided in Shavertown the past 14 years. Mrs. Wagner attended the West Valley Baptist Church, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle (Dick) Wagner; sis- ters. Mrs. Maude Nelms and Mrs. Edna Winters. Surviving are a daughter, Lois ‘Anderson, Shavertown; grand- daughter, Lois Kovel, Shavertown; great-grandchildren, Joseph, David, Lois and Rebecca Kovel, all of Shav- ertown; brother, Earl G. Williams, Dunedin, Fla. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp. ARNOLD YEUST Arnold R. Yeust, 88, of North Maia St., Shavertown, died Nov. 16, 1988 in the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston. Born in Hazleton, he was the son ‘ofthe late William and Lucinda Miller Yeust. « Mr. Yeust was employed as an electrician for the Glen Alden Coal Company for over 42 years. He was also employed as a part-time police officer for Kingston Township and a security guard for the Joyce West- ern Corporation. A former resident of Wilkes-Barre and Kingston, Mr. Yeust resided in the Back Mountain area the past 55 ~ He was a member and former fire chief of the Shavertown Volunteer ~ Fire Company; member of the King- ~ ston Borough Volunteer Fire Com- pany; the Luzerne County Fire Chiefs Association; Kingston Township Ambulance Association; the George M. Dallas Masonic Lodge #531, Caldwell Consistory; Irem Temple and the Irem Temple's First Aid Unit. Mr. Yeust was an avid Pennsylva- nia sportsman. He was a member of the Shaver- town United Methodist Church. ‘He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jennie Lamoreaux. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Roy (Ruth) Sommers, White Haven; Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Edwards, Dallas; Caroljean Yeust, at home; sons, Donald, Fernbrook; Marvin, at home; Ralph, Carverton; Dwayne, Wallingford, Conn.; 11 grandchil- dren; brother, William Yeust, Azalea, Oregon. Interment was in Denison Ceme- tery, Swoyersville. JOHN McGOEY John McGoey, 72, of the Mead- ows Apartments, Lake St., Dallas, died Nov. 16, 1988 in the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late William and Agnes Cass ; McGoey. Mr. McGoey resided in Shaver- town for the past 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the China, Burma, India Theater with the Army. He was a retired head of mainte- nance for College Misericordia, Dallas. Mr. McGoey was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown; and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Janet Wills; sister, Mary Pappadakis; brothers, William and Thomas. Surviving is his sister, Mrs. Otto (Agnes) Bayer, Port Jervis, N.Y. ANNA GROBLEWSKI Anna Groblewski, of Crestwood Drive, Dallas, died in the Mercy Health Care Center, Nanticoke. Surviving are sons, John and Anthony, both of Dallas; grandchil- dren. Born in Luzerne, son of Cather- ine SavitskiJackowski of Dallas and the late Anthony Jackowski, he was a graduate of Luzerne High School and Penn State University. Before retiring one year ago, Mr. Jackowski had been employed for 30 years by Bell Telephone Laboratories in New Jersey. A veteran, he was a pilot in the Air Force. Mr. Jackowski was a member of the VFW and St. Therese Church, Saccasunna, N.J. Born in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Stephen and Agnes Sper- noga Monka. He was a resident of Dallas since 1941. Mr. Monka was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Wilkes-Barre. Prior to his retirement in 1964, Mr. Monka was employed as a cus- todian by the Dallas Area School for 17 years. He previously was em- ployed for many years as Sexton at the Sacred Heart Slovak Cemetery, Dallas. He also was employed by the Dorrance Colliery, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by wife, the former Celia Pavlick Monka, who died January, 1978; brothers, John and Lawrence; sisters, Mrs. Mary Koreny and Mrs. Hasay. Surviving are sons, Stephen C., Covina, Ca.; John, Trucksville; daughters, Jean, New York City; Mrs. Allan (Celia) Brace, London- berry, N.H.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Born Sept. 24, 1904, in Littleton, Colo., he was the son of the late George H. and Nellie Hutt French. He resided in Richland, N.Y., most of his life, before moving to Dallas qQne year ago. He was employed by the J.D. Taylor Construction Company, Syracuse, N.Y. prior to his retirment, and was a member of Carpenters Local 12, Syracuse, N.Y. He and his wife, the former Norma Kaine, recently celebrated their 63rd wedding annive . She was born June 10, 1923 in Danville and was the daughter of the late Harridon R. and Rose Martz Randall. Mrs. Jones was the widow of for- mer Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice, Benjamin R. Jones, and was formerly married to Ed- ward M. Griffith. Aresident of the Philadelphiaarea for the past 20 years she formerly resided in Kingston and Dallas. Mrs. Jones attended the Seiler School in Harrisburg and gradu- ated from Wyoming Seminary, and the Weylister School in Milford, Conn. She studied in the field of American Decorative Arts for many years and was a recognized author- ity on decoupage. During World War II, she served as the adminstrative assistant to the executive director of the Ameri- can Red Cross. She was a founding member of the Mental Health Asso- ciation of Luzerne County, a mem- ber of the board of directors of the Wilkes-Barre YWCA, and a volun- teer at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. In the Philadelphia area she was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Philadelphia, a former member of the Chestnut Hill Women's Committee for the Phila- delphia- Orchestra, the Grumble- thorpe Committee of the Landmark Society, the Antiques Show Com- mittee of the University Hospital and the Commonwealth Board of the Medical College of Pennsylva- nia. She was a member of the Colonial Dames of America, the Merion Crick- ett Club, and a former member of the Acorn Club, and the Cosmopoli- tan Club of Philadelphia. Surviving are son, Atty. Edward Griffith, Chester Springs; stepsons, Atty. Ben R. Jones III, Dallas; Atty. Morgan Richards Jones, Philadel- phia; grandson, Trever S. Griffith and Stewart R.
