| 10 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, November 16, 1988 SCHOOL Susan Wells selected for Daughters of the American Revolution Citizens Award Susan Wells has been selected as Dallas Senior High School's representative of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award. This award is given to a senior who best exemplifies outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in their school, home and community. Susan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wells, 43 Heights Drive, Wyoming. She has been a member of the National Honor Society since 11th grade. She also has been on the Honor Roll throughout high school. She received NEDT Certificates for her high scores in 9th and 10th grades. For four years, she has been active in Student Council and was a Youth Salute Representative in 11th grade. Susan is very active in sports. * She received the President's Fitness Award in 9th and 10th grades. In field hockey, she is co-captain of the team, she has lettered for fouryears, and she participated in the Keystone Games in 1988. In track, she alsc lettered for three years and participated for four years. Susan is co-captain of the cheerleaders and has lettered for - three years in cheerleading. Breiseth, President of Wilkes College, has announced that Thomas Hadzor has been named Vice President for Development at Wilkes. Hadzor, former Executive Director of Development at the college, will retain his previous fund-raising responsibilities, including the capital campaign, annual giving, planned giving, and foundations and grants. In addition, he will now oversee alumni relations. Hadzor joined the Wilkes administration in 1986, as Director of WILKES TOMORROW, and was responsible for the campaign, gift research, fund-raising programs and regional alumni campaigns. In August of 1987, he was named Executive Director of Development, and in addition to his previous responsibilities, he supervised the offices of Annual Giving, Foundations and Grants Management, and Planned Giving. Hadzor promoted to Vice President position Prior to coming to Wilkes, he served as Director of Development at Scranton Preparatory School from 1981-1986. From 1979 to 1981, he was Director of Annual Giving and Coordinator of Special Programs at the Mercerburg Academy. Hadzor holds a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and a masters degree from Michigan State University. He resides in Dallas with Thomas Hadzor his wife, Debra, and four children. Lake-Lehman High Band wins third year Atlantic Coast Championship The Lake-Lehman High School Band has won the Atlantic Coast Championship in field show competition for the 3rd straight year. The Tournament of Bands championship competition was held in Allentown this past weekend where 100 of the best high school marching bands from New York to North Carolina competed for the honor of being crowned the best field show band on the Atlantic Coast. This championship competiton has bands competing in four groups depending on their size. Lehman competes in Group II, having 54 musicians and 38 band front and auxiliary members. Lehman scored a 96.9 out of 100 points to best the field of 25 marching bands in their group. However, when the final judging was completed for all groups, Lehman's score was the highest awarded by the judges. No band in a smaller class has ever been awarded the judges’ highest score. This achievement has never been accomplished by any other band in previous championship competitions. Awards were also presented in special categories. Lehman took their group's awards for best music, best brass, best wind and reeds and best marching and maneuvering. They brought home a total of six first place trophies.
