The one-day program, “A Day With Peter F. Drucker”, will be held October 13, from 10:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., in room 107 the Hayfield House, of the campus in Lehman. Dr. Peter Drucker, an advisor in economic and business policy and in management organization, is currently Clarke Professor of Social Science and Management at Clare- mont Graduate School. He is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Academy of Public Administration. This one-day program is divided into three basic sessions, followed by a brief question and answer ses- sion. The first session, entitled: “The - Organization in Transition: Are the Traditional Functions Obsolete?”, will examine the rapid transitions between organizational structures. The second session is entitled Its “Economic Development: Triumphs, Its Failures, and Its Di- lemmas”. This session will look at the various economic structures of several countries, including the “four tigers” of Southeast Asia-South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, in comparison with the structures of other countries such as Italy, Spain, and India. In the third session, “Middle Managers and Professionals: Can Business Regain Their Trust?”, Dr. Drucker will discuss the dramatic changes in career opportunities that managers and professionals face, due to the restructurings of compa- nies in recent years. The band has com- peted at Berwick, Dallas and this past weekend at the Arthritis Foun- dation Annual Band Competition in Wilkes-Barre. Lehman has outscored all bands in each competition and has taken trophies in the specialty categories of Best Music, Best Marching and Maneuvering and Best Band Front.
