Correspondent MOTHER’S DAY was such a special day for all mothers all over the Back Mountain. Not only did the love of our children shine through with their thoughtfulness of flowers, gifts and love but the sun also was shining brightly. It was a great day for mothers everywhere. Lori our youngest daughter, arrived home from college Friday for her summer vacation and just in time to make Mother’s Day perfect for me. Darci Davis also arrived home Friday to make her parents, John and Sharron Davis have a more loving Mother’s Day. Darci will be home for three weeks and then she leaves for 3%, weeks of missionary traveling and singing in the Philippines with the Light Ministries from Liberty University. 0- ; DORIS FERREY of Sweet Valley has been in and out of the Nesbitt Hospital, very ill over the past several weeks. Her wish was to be home for Mother’s Day. Doris came home from the hospital Saturday, vas home for Mother’s Day but became progressively worse as the day went on and had to be readmitted Sunday afternoon. Pray for Doris and her family, these are trying times. i 2 -0- ’ GINNY MAJOR, Jackson Township, made her children have an exceptionally nice Mother’s Day with her this year. Ginny has been seriously ill for the past several weeks also, but is doing great now. She has been home for over a week, is getting stronger and walking better every day. We knew you could do it Ginny, you're a determined person, who never gives up on anything. MR. AND MRS. LOUIS SCHULTZ of Cook St., Dallas, returned home in time for Mother’s Day. The Schultz’s spent the past few months in Florida where they enjoy their winters getting away from our frigid weather. They take their mobile home and stop along the way enjoying the campsites and friendly travelers as they go. Welcome Home! JOE MCDANIELS of Sweet Valley returned home from a winter vacation in time to wish his mother a happy Mother’s Day in person. Joe, who is all tanned and looking like a ‘‘beach boy” spent the past two weeks enjoying the beaches and sunshine in Jamaica. He flew to Florida then took a boat to Kingston, Jamaica. 4 DR. EVAN AND CAROL THOMAS of Sutton Hills, Shavertown, who by the way are the parents of seven lovely children, added to their Mother’s Day by adding three foster children to their home. Their addition of three children, ages 18 months, 3 years and 5 years old, only goes to show what a special mother Carol Thomas is. If a vote was taken on an outstanding mother of the year, my vote would sure,y be cast for Carol Thomas. She is the most loving and caring person I have ever met and her personality shines through each of her children. A mother of 10 children, all of whom are in church with her every Sunday and she always has a smile on her face, Happy Mother’s Day Carol, What an example you are for all of us. Speaking of families, The Evangelical Free Church of the Back Mountain is starting a series of studies entitled ‘Family Seminar ‘Parenting’ the way God does it on May 15 at 10:30 a.m. Their new church home is on Hildebrandt Road next to the Dallas High School. The first segment is ‘‘Satan’’, the war against the family and they invite all to attend. 0 HEIDI ALLEN of Sweet Valley who was very seriously injured in an auto accident over a year ago didn’t let her handicap keep her from helping others in need. Heidi drove her wheelchair six miles in last Sunday’s March of Dimes Walk America. Heidi feels helping others less fortunate than herself makes her feel a lot better about herself. Way to go Heidi. We all need to put others needs above our own. I know Heidi’s outlook on life gives her mother, Annabel, a lot to be grateful for on Mother’s Day especially having her daughter with her.
