Feeney, Principal, West Side Tech, has announced that registration and scheduling for the 1988-89 school term is now in progress at the five participating districts of West Side Tech: North- ~ west Area, Lake-Lehman, Dallas Area, Wyoming Area, and Wyo- ming Valley West. Students who are interested in attending West Side Tech may obtain application forms from the guidance counselor of their sending schools. Applications are also avail- able in the parochial and private schools on the west side of the river. West Side Tech now has openings in the following shop areas: Data Processing, Auto Mechanics, Auto Body, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Marketing Education, Electrical Occupations, Electronics Technol- ogy, Machine Shop, Clothing Fabri- cation, Sheet Metal, Upholstery, Plumbing and Heating, and Food Preparation. West Side Tech graduates have the options of working, going to college, or attending advanced technical schools. Current statistics reveal that approximately 49.6 per- cent of graduating seniors have secured immediate full-time employment in their areas of train- ing. Graduates continuing their education in four and two year colleges number 17.2 percent with 2 percent entering advanced techni- cal schools. Another 6 percent will enter the Armed Services. Parents and students who are interested in the opportunities available through Vocational Edu- cation are encouraged to investi- gate course offerings now available at West Side Tech. Kindergarten registration open Registration for Kindergarten and 1st Grade in the Lake-Lehman School District will be held during the week of April 18. Children who have reached the age of 5 years by September 30, 1988 will be admitted to Kindergarten. Beth was named Luzerne County Fair Queen last September and competed against 18 other queens at the State competition. Beth lives in Dallas and attends Penn State, Wilkes-Barre, where she is majoring in elementary edu- cation.
