Mrs. Maryann Cigarski, 71, of
1675 Chase Road, Chase, died
November 24 in the Wilkes-
Barre General Hospital.
Born in Port Blanchard, she
had been a resident of Chase for
the past 45 years. She was a
member of St. John Nepomu-
cene Church, Luzerne and also
a member of the Senior Citizens
of Dallas.
Surviving are her husband,
Charles; daughters, Mrs. Lor-
raine Driscoll, Atco, N.J.; Mrs.
Gloria Jean Williams, Severn,
Md.; Mrs. Marilyn Glogowski,
Chase; Mrs. Sharon Blaszak,
Severna Park, Md.; son, Robert
Charles, at home; sisters, Mrs.
Angie Chojnowski, Roseville,
Michigan; Mrs. Ann Biniek,
New Brunswick, N.J.; Mrs.
Rose Popovich, Wilkes-Barre;
brothers, Stanley Kopec, Som-
merville, N.J.; Edward Kopec,
Sommerset, N.J.
Funeral services will be held
Friday at 9 a.m. from the
Baloga Funeral Home, 592 N.
Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with a
Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30

Church, Luzerne. Interment will
be in Sacred Heart Cemetery,
Dallas. Friends may call tonight
from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Jack Kitchen
Jack Bradley Kitchen, 61, of
44 White Birch Village, Dallas,
died suddenly at his home on
November 24.
Born in Parsons, he attended
Kingston Township schools and
was a Navy veteran of World
War II. Prior to retirement in
1975, he was employed as a long
distance truck driver. He was a
well-known motorcycle enthusi-
ast.
Surviving are a son, Jack B.
Jr., Wilkes-Barre; daughter,
Mrs. Karen Glatz, Wyoming;
five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
Saturday at 11 a.m. from the
Home, 672 Memorial Highway,
Dallas, with the Rev. Lynn A.
Rothrock, pastor of St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, Shavertown,
officiating. Interment will be in
Memorial Shrine Park, Carver-
ton. Friends may call Friday to
2to4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Francis O’Hara
Francis J. O’Hara, of 156
Beech St., Shavertown, died
November 23 in the Nesbitt
Memorial Hospital, Kingston,
following a two week illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he had
resided in Shavertown since
1951. He was employed by the
Faith Shoe Co. and later by the
Dallas School District. Form-
erly active with the Boy Scouts
of America, he was a member
of St. Therese’s Church, Shaver-
town and its Holy Name
Society.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Marjorie Jones; daugh-
ter, Mrs. Judy Williams, Ster-
ling Heights, Mich.; son, Frank,
Hanover, Pa.; four grandchil-
dren; sisters, Mrs. Mary
Offman, Michigan; Miss Jean
O’Hara, Wilkes-Barre; brother,
Joseph, New Jersey.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted from the Harold C.
Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N.
Main St., Shavertown, with
interment in St. Mary’s Ceme-
tery, Hanover Township.
A. Dorrance Mekeel
A. Dorrance (Bud) Mekeel, 77,
of Market St., Lehman, died
November 23, in the Nesbitt
Memorial Hospital, Kingston,
where he had been a patient for
three days.
A lifelong resident of Lehman,
he attended Lehman schools
and, prior to retiring in 1972,
had been employed as a truck
driver by the Midwest haulers.
After retiring, he had been
employed as a bus driver by the
Emmanuel Bus Lines, serving
the Dallas School District.

In celebration of their 11th
Annual Thanksgiving Week Art
Show, the art students of Sue
Hand and Karen Shelley invite
the public to attend an exhibit of
their drawings, paintings, and
calligraphy at Sue Hand’s Imag-
ery in Dallas.
The exhibit will be open to the
public from Monday, November
24 to Saturday, Nov. 29, except
for Thanksgiving Day, at Sue
Hand’s Imagery, 35 Main
Street, Dallas. Exhibit hours
are 10 to 5 daily, Tuesday eve-
ning until 8:30.
There is no charge for admis-
sion.

Several professional artists will
be among the exhibitors, as well
as many members of the North-
eastern Pennsylvania Chapter
of the Cider Painters of Amer-
ica and the Wyoming Valley Art
League. Many of the students
have won prizes in local and
regional competition this year
as well as in a few state and
national contests.
The artists range in age from
elementary school students to
teens, young adults, and senior
citizens. A wide variety of
media will be displayed includ-
ing pencil, ink, charcoal, water-
color, gouache, casein, acrylic.

Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Alberta

Coolbaugh, Lehman; Mrs.

ducted today at 11 a.m. from
the Richard H. Disque Funeral
Home, 672 Memorial Highway,
Dallas, with Rev. Michael
Shambora, pastor of the
Lehman United Methodist
Church, officiating. Interment
will be in the Lehman Center
Cemetery.
Michael Traver
Michael Traver, 82, of RD 1,
Noxen (Stull Road) was pro-
nounced dead on arrival at
Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunk-
hannock, on November 21, fol-
lowing an apparent heart
attack.
He was employed for 10 years
by the Armour Leather Co.,
Noxen, and was a constable and
chief of police for the Noxen
area for 16 years. Mr. Traver
was also a charter member of
the Noxen Fire Company and
Noxen Ambulance.
He and his wife, the former
Alice Schooley, celebrated their
62nd wedding anniversary in
October. He attended the United
Methodist Church, Noxen.
Surviving in addition to his
wife, are sons, Corey, Noxen;
Eugene, Moravia, N.Y.; David
E., Great Bend; daughter, Alice
Potter, Noxen; 12 grandchil-
dren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Cruiser damaged:
This Dallas Borough police
cruiser received damage to
the right part of the wind-
shield when it was involved
in an accident with a truck
from the Asplundh Tree
Expert Service of Forty Fort.
Officer Robert Jolley was
driving the cruiser when it
collided with the truck at
approximately 1:49 a.m. on
Route 415. Jolley was
treated at Nesbitt Memorial
Hospital for an eye injury
and released.
