DENMON Staff Correspondent Gary Morgantini, despite serving as an assistant coach at West Side Vo-Tech School for the past 13 years, is now in his first year as head coach at the high school. kids at West Side Vo-Tech who wanted to play football, so when Coach Ray McNulty resigned, he decided to apply for the position. Morgantini resides with his wife, the former Susan Root, and two children in Harding. Originally from West Wyoming, Mor- gantini graduated from West Wyoming High School in 1961 and from King’s College in 1965. His son, Jeffrey, gradu- ated from West Side Vo Tech and now attends Luzerne County Community Col- ‘lege. His daughter, Jennifer, is a senior at Wyoming Area. Morgantini taught in New Jersey for five years before accepting a position at West Side Vo Tech in 1970. He is pres- ently Cooperative Vocational Education Instructor at the high school. He places students, who are eligible, in their career fields, through the school’s work pro- gram. They must have ‘developed enough basic skills in their class work to qualify for entry level employment. Morgantini played football for West Wyoming and King’s College, both at guard and tackle. He learned offense and defense from the late John Ludowoski. “I have three fine assistants working with me this season and we have some good kids willing to work at putting a good team on the field so we're giving it a try,” said Morgantini. Joseph Girman is working with Mor- gantini as offensive coordinator; Keith Orlandini is defensive coordinator; and Tom Schulde is offensive ends coach.
