Miss Ann Marie Fielding, daugh-
ter of Mrs. Sidney Fielding and the
late Sidney Fielding, Huntsville, and
Gregory R. Walter, son of Mrs.
Stephen L. Walter, Sr. and the late
Stephen L. Walter, Camden, New
Jersey, were recently wed in St.
Therese’s Church, Shavertown.
Monsignor Joseph P. Gilgallon
performed the double ring -cere-
mony. The bride was escorted down
the aisle by her uncle, Ronald Field-
ing, Sr.
Mrs. Elizabeth Oliver, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Ann E.
Walter, sister of the bridegroom;
Mrs. Barbara Angletein; and Miss
Barbara Murray. Junior bridesmaid
was Miss Kristen Roese, cousin of
the bride. Flower girl was Miss
Marie Manzoni, godchild of the
bride.
Michael Walter, Sr., brother of
the bridegroom was best man.
Ushers were Robert Walter, brother
of the bridegroom; Michael Angle-
stein; and Stephen Thompson.
Junior usher was Michael Walter,
Jr., nephew of the bridegroom.
Ringbearer was Dennis Lee, godson
of the bride.
An evening cocktail hour and
reception was held at Genetti Motor
Inn, Wilkes-Barre.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the
bridegroom’s mother, was held at
the Castle Inn, Dallas.
The bride was honored at a bridal
shower at the Genetti Motor Inn
given by Mrs. Elizabeth Oliver,
sister of the bride. She was also
honored at a bridal shower given by
her co-workers at the home of Mrs.
Lisa Wetzel, Philadelphia.
Mrs. Walter is a graduate of
Lake-Lehman High School and Col-
lege Misericordia with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Nursing. She is
employed as the Assistant Head
Nurse of the Infant Transitional
Unit at the Childrens Hospital of
Philadelphia.
Mr. Walter is a graduate of Wood-
row Wilson High School and Rutgers
University, Camden, with a Bache-
lor of Science degree in Nursing. He
is employed on the Clinical
Research Center at the Hospital of
The University of Pennsylvania.
Following a honeymoon in Ber-
muda, the couple was honored at an
open house given by the bride-
groom’s mother; aunt, Mrs. Eva
Hansen; and sister-in-law, Mrs.
Sandie Walter.
The couple will reside in the
Chestnut Hill section of Philadel-
phia.
TWENTY-THREE LOCAL RESI-
DENTS are among 37 students cur-
rently earning college credits prior
to beginning their freshman year of
study through the College Entry
Program at King’s College.
The program, open to students at
a college or university in the fall, is
designed to allow students an oppor-
tunity to either refine basic skills
needed in their freshman year of
study or to accelerate their studies
by completing courses in the
summer, enabling them to take a
reduced courseload while they
adjust to the academic demands of
college.
Students enrolled in the program
are participating in classes in the
areas of critical thinking, writing,
math, study, skills, quantitive rea-
soning and theatre. Upon the suc-
cessful completion of each class,
students will earn three college
credits that may be applied to their
core or elective requirements at the
college or university they will
attend in the fall. Students may
participate in a maximum of two
classes during the program which
began July 1 and will end August 1.
Back Mountain residents partici-
pating in the College Entry POro-
gram are Donald Buzinkai, Shaver-
town; Paul Dollard, Dallas; James
Farrell, Dallas; Guy Llewellyn,
Shavertown and John Randolph,
Dallas.

JAMES M. PRICE, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arlington Price of 213
Holly St., Trucksville, enlisted in
the United States Air Force
recently, according to SSgt. Mike
Bechak, Air Force Recruiter for the
Wilkes-Barre area.
Upon successfully completing the
Air Force’s six weeks basic military
training at Lackland Air Force
Base, Texas, Jim will receive train-
ing in the General Aptitude Field.
Jim is a 1986 graduate of Dallas
High School.
Jim will be earning credits
toward an associate degree in
applied sciences through the Com-

Four are Eagle Scouts
Troop and Post 232 of Gate of
Heaven Catholic Church, Dallas
held an Eagle Court of Honor at
College Misericordia, Sunday,
July 27.
Among the over 20 scouts
receiving awards were four who
received scoutings highest rank,
Eagle Scout. They were Nathan
Kelley, 15, Alan Landis, 15.
James Strange, 15, and Robert
Skursky, 16.
Over 100 guests were wel-
comed by Mr. David Wojcie-
chowski, Assistant Scoutmaster.
The opening ceremonies were
conducted by scouts Ronald
Fitch, John Mitchell, Robert
Rowlands, Sam Wilkes, Shane
Williams, D.J. Wojciechowski,
Chris Kuhar and led by Alan
Landis. Awards were presented
to the Troop and Post members
by Lee Williames, Post Presi-
dent, Nathan Kelley, Post Vice
President, James Strange, Troop
Senior Patrol Leader, Robert
Skursky, Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader, and Mr. Evan Williams,
the Webelos Leader.
Newly admitted scouts John
Leonard, Daren Buss, and Sean
Reynolds named as recipients of
Scout Badge and the Citizenship
skill award. Sumner Bachman
was awarded the First Aid Skill
Award, the Hiking Skill Award,
and the rank of Second Class.
Jason Elliot earned the Scout
Badge, First Aid Skill Award,
and Tenderfoot Rank.
Francis Hoover was awarded
the Family Living, First Aid,
Swimming, Conservation, and
Citizenship Skill Awards as well
as the Scout Badge and Tender-
foot rank. Eric Williams earned
the Swimming Skill Award and
merit badge,the Sports, the Envi-
ronmental Science and the Cook-
ing merit badges. David Wojcie-
chowski achieved the Swimming
and Conservation Skill Awards,
the Cooking and the Nature
merit badges, and the rank of
First Class Scout. Chris Kuhar
earned the Conservation and the
_ Camping Skill Awards, the Cook-
ing, Swimming, and First Aid
merit badges as well as the First
Class Scout rank. Sam Wilkes
completed the Conservation Skill
Award, Cooking merit badge,
Swimming merit badge and the
rank of First Class Scout. Ron
Fitch was awarded the Swim-
ming merit badge and the Emer-
gency Preparedness merit
badge, earning the rank of Star
Scout. Shane Williams achieved
the rank of Star Scout and
earned Camping, Nature and the
Emergency Preparedness merit
badges.
Lee Williames earned the Rep-
tile Study, Botany and the
Weather merit badges. Nathan
Kelley earned the Personal Man-
agement merit badge. Alan
Landis was awarded the Citizen-
ship in the World, the Citizenship
in the Nation, and Communica-
tions, the Personal Management,
“and the Safety merit badges.
Robert Skursky completed the
