Walter, Camden, New Jersey, were recently wed in St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Monsignor Joseph P. Gilgallon performed the double ring -cere- mony. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her uncle, Ronald Field- ing, Sr. Mrs. Elizabeth Oliver, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Ann E. Walter, sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Barbara Angletein; and Miss Barbara Murray. Junior bridesmaid was Miss Kristen Roese, cousin of the bride. Flower girl was Miss Marie Manzoni, godchild of the bride. Michael Walter, Sr., brother of the bridegroom was best man. Ushers were Robert Walter, brother of the bridegroom; Michael Angle- stein; and Stephen Thompson. Junior usher was Michael Walter, Jr., nephew of the bridegroom. Ringbearer was Dennis Lee, godson of the bride. An evening cocktail hour and reception was held at Genetti Motor Inn, Wilkes-Barre. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bridegroom’s mother, was held at the Castle Inn, Dallas. The bride was honored at a bridal shower at the Genetti Motor Inn given by Mrs. Elizabeth Oliver, sister of the bride. She was also honored at a bridal shower given by her co-workers at the home of Mrs. Lisa Wetzel, Philadelphia. Mrs. Walter is a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and Col- lege Misericordia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She is employed as the Assistant Head Nurse of the Infant Transitional Unit at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Mr. Walter is a graduate of Wood- row Wilson High School and Rutgers University, Camden, with a Bache- lor of Science degree in Nursing. He is employed on the Clinical Research Center at the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania. Following a honeymoon in Ber- muda, the couple was honored at an open house given by the bride- groom’s mother; aunt, Mrs. Eva Hansen; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Sandie Walter. The couple will reside in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadel- phia. TWENTY-THREE LOCAL RESI- DENTS are among 37 students cur- rently earning college credits prior to beginning their freshman year of study through the College Entry Program at King’s College. The program, open to students at a college or university in the fall, is designed to allow students an oppor- tunity to either refine basic skills needed in their freshman year of study or to accelerate their studies by completing courses in the summer, enabling them to take a reduced courseload while they adjust to the academic demands of college. Students enrolled in the program are participating in classes in the areas of critical thinking, writing, math, study, skills, quantitive rea- soning and theatre. Upon the suc- cessful completion of each class, students will earn three college credits that may be applied to their core or elective requirements at the college or university they will attend in the fall. Students may participate in a maximum of two classes during the program which began July 1 and will end August 1. Newly admitted scouts John Leonard, Daren Buss, and Sean Reynolds named as recipients of Scout Badge and the Citizenship skill award. Sumner Bachman was awarded the First Aid Skill Award, the Hiking Skill Award, and the rank of Second Class. Jason Elliot earned the Scout Badge, First Aid Skill Award, and Tenderfoot Rank. Francis Hoover was awarded the Family Living, First Aid, Swimming, Conservation, and Citizenship Skill Awards as well as the Scout Badge and Tender- foot rank. Eric Williams earned the Swimming Skill Award and merit badge,the Sports, the Envi- ronmental Science and the Cook- ing merit badges. David Wojcie- chowski achieved the Swimming and Conservation Skill Awards, the Cooking and the Nature merit badges, and the rank of First Class Scout.
