the renovated Paramount theatre.
Programs to be presented following
the opening sound informative,
exciting and entertaining. I think Al
Boscov is certainly to be com-
mended for having the foresight to

married Saturday in St. John’s
Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre.

James Lackenmaier, C.S.C. per-

Mrs. Marquart is the former Mar-
jorie Eleanora Henry, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Henry,
A graduate of Wyoming Semi-
nary, the University of Tampa and
College Misericordia, Mrs. Mar-
quart is employe by Apple Tree
Primary School as a kindergarten
teacher.
Mr. Marquart is the son of Mrs.
Guthrie Conyngham, Shavertown
and the late Howard Marquart. A
graduate of Dallas High School and
East Stroudsburg State University,
he is employed as a trust officer
with Northeastern Bank, Scranton.
Following a trip to Bermuda, the
Marquarts are residing in Kingston.
ROSE ANN SERPICO, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Serpico,
Trucksville will attend the Summer
Dance Program of the Boston
School of Ballet.
Ms. Serpico will be a senior at
Wyoming Seminary in September.
Previously - she has attended
summer residencies conducted by
Boston School of Ballet and the
and the Pennsylvania Ballet. She
has appeared frequently as soloist
with Ballet Northeast. She is a
student of the Degnan Ballet Center.

Monica Polachek, daughter of Mrs.
Pauline Polachek and the late John

and Barbara, at home.

KINGSTON TOWNSHIP POLICE
are searching for a Shavertown
man who has been reported missing
since last Friday.
Police say they are looking for
Ralph J. Shreve, 32, of 46 Hilltop
Drive, who was last heard from on
July 10 after talking to his wife by
telephone.
He is reported to be 5 ft. 5 inches,
145 lbs, brown eyes, brown hair, fair
complected and wearing Lee Blue
jeans and a cotton jacket.

A shavertown WOMAN reported
that two rings were stolen from her

Audrey Billings, of 20 Harris Hill
Road, told Kingston Township police
that she is missing a Mothers ring
and a Diamond ring valued at
approximately $250.
Billings, who reported the jewelry

missing on July 10, said she last
saw the items on June 20 at a party
at her home. There was no sign of
forced entry at the dwelling.

A LUZERNE MAN escaped injury
Sunday after he lost control of his
car and struck several obstacles
before coming to rest in a yard in
Kingston township.
Joseph Roche, 792 Miller Street,
Luzerne, was traveling south on
Manor Drive when he lost control of
his vehicle while rounding a curve. &
Miller’s 1977 Chevy slid on the rocky
portion of the berm and skidded
sideways for 65/ feet through a
landscape while | knocking over a
tree.
The car then struck a vehicle
owned by Raymond Metzger, 69
Manor Drive, which in turn pushed
into another vehicle owned by Metz-
ger, both of which were parked in
the driveway.
Obituary
Helen S. Siley, 78, formerly of
West Eighth Street, West Wyoming,
died July 10 in the Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital.
Surviving are sons, Willard,
Stroudsburg; Thomas, Philadel-
phia; Harry, Highland Lakes, N.J.;
daughters, Mrs. Frances Harrison,
Stroudsburg; Mrs. Mary Morgan,
Trucksville; brother, Marvin F.
Scott, Dallas; sister, Mrs. Ruth
Searfoss, Noxen; 10 grandchildren;
five great-graridchildren.

Potzer said the township doesn’t
have a heavy problem, but they do
want to crack down on those who
abuse public lots and thoroughfares
by littering and possibly presenting
safety and health hazards.
“This ordinance isn’t going to
affect people who want to have
parties in their homes,” Potzer
explained. “That is private prop-
erty. That's fine. This ordinance
only pertains to public places.”
Specifically, those places include:
streets, alleys, roads, parks, public
grounds, public places or public
vacant lots.
Any person who violates the ordi-
nance will be subject, upon convic-
tion, to pay a fine of not less than
$25 and court costs. Failure to pay
