CINDY KRAUSE was honored at
a “baby’s shower” given by her
mother and aunt at the home of her
mother, Connie Dymond in Beau-
mont. The lady in waiting is expect-
ing twins in August and we are all
anxiously awaiting their arrivals.
Cindy is
employed at the
pharmacy
department at
Stapinski’s. She
used to be the
cute little blonde,
but now she’s the
cute big blonde!
About 30 friends
and family mem-
bers were on
hand to enjoy the
outdoor shower
and help ‘‘equip”
the babies.
She received everything in two’s, it
was so neat. Two high chairs, two
car seats, etc. Good luck Cindy, I
hope patience comes in two’s for
you too!

JIM DAVIS, owner of Jedidia’s
Restaurant in Dallas, is a pretty
nice guy, I'm told. One of his
regular customers Millie happened
to stop me the other day and she
just expressed how much of a joy it
is to eat there and talk with him. I
think when a businessman comes
across so well to his customers that
it makes their day, he should know
about it. You're a nice guy, Jim
Davis. 0-
LORRAINE HOZEMPA of Mid-
Girls installed
land Drive, Dallas is a patient in
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Lor-
raine is having a great deal of back
discomfort and she is in traction.
Our get well wishes go out to her,
please hurry and get well soon.
Lorraine is the mother of Diane
Bryant, owner of Great Beginnings
Fitness Center and she’ll be proud
to know also that her daughter and
raised $882.50 for ‘‘Jerry’s Kids”,
Diane will present the check on TV
during the Labor Day weekend tele-
thon. That’s a lot of money for a
first time Aerobic-A-Thon.

FRANK SAVAGE, son of Frank
and Alice Savage, spent the Memo-
rial Day weekend visiting with his
parents, Frank now resides in

reminiscing for the family. They
spent a lot of time golfing, their
favorite sport, and just enjoying the
time together.

GOODY AND LOUISE HILBERT
of Beaumont spent three weeks
touring and sightseeing during a
leisurely drive to Dallas, Texas;
Memphis, Tennessee; and Colum-
bus, Ohio. The Hilberts enjoyed the
guided tour through the Elvis Pres-
ley Mansion and Estate. It was
really the highlight of the trip —
like going through the years of
Elvis’ life in memoirs. A very beau-
tiful and interesting place to see.
They also enjoyed the Gathenburg
Shops in Tennessee. In Texas, they
visited South Fork where “Dallas”
is filmed. They were quite
impressed with the beautiful
grounds and decor of South Fork,
the outside setting was beautiful but
as much as beauty as was seen
outside, was equally disappointing
on the inside. The home we see on
TV that looks so glamorous is actu-
ally very small rooms and not at all
what one expects in reality.
The last leg of their trip was
visiting Goody’s sister in Columbus,
Ohio, then on home. In three weeks
of travelling, they had only two
days of rain.

few days bring Bob’s father back
home with them where he’ll spend a
few weeks enjoying his family here
in Dallas.

MR. AND MRS. ELLIS WEED of
Haddonfield Hills, Dallas, are done
traveling for a few months. The
Weeds spent the winter months in
Florida and it’s good to see them
around the neighborhood again.
Welcome back.

Fire Co. visited : :
The pre-school children of Sandy Beach Nursery visited the Daniel C. Roberts Fire Co., Harveys
Lake. Clarence Hogan, Fire Chief, conducted the tour. The three and four year olds were
allowed to view the inside of the ambulance. The different uses of the fire fighting equipment
and the trucks were explained so the children could better understand the operation of the fire
department. Blowing the horn, handling the hoses, and experiencing what it feels like to put on
a gas mask were the highlights of the trip. Mrs. Charles Austin, teacher; stated the youngsters
were delighted when they were presented with red fireman hats and coloring books. Shown here
are the children who were on the tour: Clay Cadwalader, Kara Cadwalader, Kayce Boback,

Protect pets
Members of the Northeast Penn-
sylvania Veterinary Medical Asso-
ciation have noted that while travel-
ing with a pet can be fun, it can also
be a difficult, unpleasant experience
for all concerned.
The Association advises that pets,
just like people, often suffer from
motion sickness, can become lost
easily in unfamiliar surroundings,
can be exposed to diseases, and can
be prone to heatstroke

Lassale.
Because quiet
elegance is
his style.
A remarkably thin profile in a
deliberately simple design. The
richness is in the gleam of gold-
tone. In that Lassale perfection
of finish that can't be matched.
In the luxury of commanding the
highest quartz performance. A
gift par excellence, par elegance.
Lassale. The heritage is obvious.
