In Wednesday’s game with Nanti- coke Area at Kirby Park, the Dallas Mountaineers avenged their 5-2 loss to the Trojans during the regular season by taking a 6-2 win to clinch the Class AAA Wyoming Valley Conference title. The title game was played at Kirby Park with the win giving the Dallas softball team the chance to advance to Thursday’s game with Valley View in the Dis- trict 2 playoffs. Mountaineer hurler Tracy Cave went all the way for the Mountai- neers, fanning three and walking one. The Mountaineers insured the game in the sixth inning when they scored three runs on four walks by Trojan hurler Lynn Rasmus. Two of the walks forced in runs and Scholz singled for the third run. Rasmus walked the first two batters up and Tracy Hunter beat out a bunt for a single. Heather Bachman, pinch hitter, struck out then Joyce Tinner- walked to force in a run.
