She used to write a column for The Dallas Post, she lived in Oak Hill and she had quite a following. Bridgette’s column was usually geared towards something horrendous that happened to her and her family, it was full of humor, always funny! rp Two lovely ladies from Oak Hill, neighbors and friends of Bridgette’s stopped by last week and wondered why I don’t write abou people in Oak Hill. We got into a conversation about Bridgette. First, let me say I love to write about people in Oak Hill. You inform me and I'll gladly inform everyone. As for Bridgette, she now lives in Germantown, Tenn. with her husband and family. They own two restaurants, one is called ‘Brooklyn Bridge.” Bridgette has made a couple of TV commercials and some ads. Her TV commercials were on pastas, spaghetti, noodles etc, and one on swimming pools. Besides running two restaurants, working for a TV station, and taking care of her family, I know she’s still laughing, also! Bridgette a big hello to you from all your friends, neighbors and past readers of your column in The Dallas Post. -0- DANIEL HOLDREDGE, son of Danold and Sharron Holdredge, Norton Avenue, Dallas, had the pleasure of being one of the Eagle Scouts that met with former President Ford last week. President Ford shook his hand, a moment Daniel will long remember. Daniel is a 10th grade student at Dallas High School and we do congratulate him on being an Eagle Scout, one of the most prestigious ranks in scouting and one that is very hard to come by. Daniel has two brothers, David, in 5th grade at Dallas (and also a Dallas Post delivery boy) and Donald Jr. who is in grade school at Dallas. Daniel also used to be a carrier of The Dallas Post. -0- ; CAROL ERTLEY, another Dallas resident, also met with former President Gerald Ford last week while he was in the area supporting the Holtzman campaign. (Jean Hillard, a Back Mountain resident, is a columnist for The Dallas Post. Her column appears weekly.) Magic 93, WMGS, is one of the more recent FM stations to hit the air waves of Northeastern Pa. It is a sister station to WARM, and both are part of the Susquehanna Broadcasting System located in York. The radio station is under the able leadership and guidance of Phil Condron, general manager, and Chris Norton, program director. Magic 93 features an ‘‘adult contemporary’ format. Recent promotions, including the Valentine’s Day Give-Away, Genetti Dinner Theater Ticket Give-Away, and the Diamond Ring Give-Away, have been held to more directly involve the listening audience. Presently, the station is conducting a Listening Post Lunch Give-Away, through which listeners can be lucky winners three times every weekday. WMGS also features the “Magic Hotline,”” whereby listeners can call 1-800 MGS 93-93 and make special requests for songs; favorite tunes of the 60s, 70s and 80s; DJ Carol Warholak’s “Noon Classics’; and the ‘‘Magic of Romance,’ love song requests taken Sunday through Thursday 9-10 p.m., and then played in the 10 p.m.-12 time slot. Kelly Reed and Fran Pantuso are two young ladies who act in the capacity of ‘‘disc jockeys” at Magic 93. Both are personable and highly qualified, characteristics essential in the radio broadcasting profession. Kelly Reed is originally from New York City. At the early age of six, « she received her first radio. A few years later, Kelly visited WNEW and she realizxed then that radio was going to be her niche in life. After graduating from Adelphi University (Long Island), she was employed at a public broadcasting station in the city and at WNEW as a traffic reporter. Prior to coming to Magic 93, Ms. Reed worked at WKRZ. Kelly is on the air at WMGS from 6 p.m. to 12. When asked about her present employment, Kelly stated: ‘‘One of the greatest advantages of working at Magic 93 - WARM is the great rapport between management and employees. It makes working there a pleasure. Our station is primarily targeted toward the 25-50 age group, and I believe Magic 93 is the station particularly suited to serve the needs of this age group.
