George C. Hasay.
Information on a wide range of
crafts, sports, cultural and outdoor
activities is included in the 88-page
booklet prepared by the Department
of Commerce.
The listing for each event includes
the location and a telephone number
for further details.
The booklet also includes. the
address and phone number for each
of more than 50 tourist promotion
agencies in the state.

More than 400,000 senior citizens
enrolled in the Pharmaceutical
Assistance Contract for the Elderly
(PACE) program will receive
renewal application forms in the
mail this month, according to Alma
R. Jacobs, Secretary of the Pennsyl-
vania Department of Aging.
PACE is the Lottery-funded pro-
gram that permits state residents
over age 65 to purchase prescribed
medicines for as little as $4 regard-
less of the cost, if their incomes are

The award provides an opportunity
to recognize an individual or group
that has provided outstanding serv-
ice to the people of Wyoming
Valley.
Implemented in 1980 by the
United Way of Wyoming Valley
board of directors, the award is
named in honor of Rosalie Brader
who was employed for 31 years as
the U.W. Labor Participation Direc-
tor and served in numerous volun-
teer capacities.
Nomination forms can be obtained
at the United Way, 9 East Market
Street, Wilkes-Barre, or by tele-
phoning 829-6711. Deadline for sub-
mitting nominations is Feb} 28. The
1986 award recipient will be selected
by a panel of volunteer judges
representing the U.W. Board of
Directors, Labor Participation Com-
mittee, Communications Commit-
tee, PARD, and the Campaign Cabi-
net, and will be honored in April at
the United Way’s Annual Meeting
and Awards Dinner.

“I emphasize that the renewal
forms being mailed are for current
PACE card holders only,” Mrs.
Jacobs said. ‘‘Persons who are
enrolling in PACE for the first time
must obtain new enrollment appli-
cations at pharmacies, legislators’
offices or county area agency on
aging offices.”
PACE renewal forms require
each applicant to provide his or her
annual income for the 1985 calendar
year and to update information such
as residency, marital status and
medical insurance coverage. All
applications must be signed in the
space provided and returned in
order to receive new PACE cards
for use after July 1, 1986. Unsigned
applications cannot be processed.
Mrs. Jacobs said present PACE
card holders will receive their new
cards during the last two weeks of
June.
