The study tour program includes a full itinerary of
Expo held
Wilkes College held its annual Science Expo at the campus:
recently. The day-long event provided high school students
with an opportunity to witness many of the research projects
and academic programs offered by various science depart-
ments at the college. The focus of this year's Expo was a
two-part lecture-presentation entitled ‘‘Science and the

FIRST GRADE: in the first
grade, besides getting ready for the
Christmas play about Santa trading
elves for robots, Sister Alice Ann’s
class, 1-212, is making puppets
which will be on display on their
bulletin board this week.
Sr. Catherina’s class participated
in a spelling bee Friday. Sister is
very confident about them and
claims much progress is being
made in her room.

SECOND GRADE: The second
graders, Room 2-202, Sr. Elizabeth’s
oinsettia contest, along with Room
-216, Mr. Simon's class. They will
both enjoy a pizza party in the very
near future.
The second graders are also reyv-
ing up for their robotic play which
will be held on Wednesday, Dec, 18,
at 7:30 p.m. in the gym.

THIRD & FOURTH GRADE; The
third and fourth graders are also
gearing up for their Christmas play,
“No Vacancy.’”’ This year, the
chorus will be dressed as ‘‘travel-
ers”. It promises to be a great
performance.

FIFTH GRADE: Chrissy Elechko
won the price for the most sales of
poinsettias and wreaths. This was a
musical Christmas bear. Congratu-
lations, Chrissy.
SIXTH GRADE: Room 6-216, Mr.
Simon’s class, will also enjoy a
pizza lunch, hosted by the PTG, for
their good work in the wreath and
poinsettia sale. Congratulations.
Mr. Don Walutes, 6-217, won the
Hand-crafted telephone book cover
for his sales of Poinsettias.
SEVENTH & EIGHTH GRADE:
Students of the 7th and 8th grade
class wish to thank all those who
helped make their jewelry sale a
success. They did well on it. Pro-
ceeds go toward class trips.
ON BEHALF OF Father Cusick,
Father Langan, Sr. Davida, faculty,
staff and students, we thank the
PTG for their fine efforts and ener-
gies ey have shown on their first-
ever Holiday Fair. Proceeds from
this project goes toward the school
expenses. Besides its being a finan-
cial success, it was a lot of fun, too.

SUSIE REDMOND
JERRY YANKOWSKI is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Yankowski
of Chase Manor. Jerry has been a
memver of the Lake-Lehman band
for six years. He is also a member
of the Ski Club here at Lehman. In
his spare time he enjoys hunting,
fishing, and snowmobiling.
MARK MAJOR is the son of
Ginny Major of Huntsville Road.
Mark is a football Paver and also
he’s involved in volleyball here at
Lehman. In Mark’s spare time his
interests include hunting and fish-
ing.

GAIL THOMAS is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Evan Thomas of
Sutton Hills. Gail is a member of
the field hockey, basketball, and
softball “teams. Gail is also the
secretary of the senior class. In her
spare time she enjoys drawing,
watersports, and tennis. Gail's
future plans include college to
become a teacher.

KELLY WANDEL is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wandel of
Lehman. Kelly is a starting player
in field hockey, basketball, and soft-
ball teams. Kelly is a member of
the National Honor Society. Her
spare time interests are hunting,

LaCrosse, horseback riding. Kelly’s
future plans include college to
become a medical technologist.

Stephen Greger, President, Student
Council, and the other members of
the council, for the food and soap
collection for the Little Sisters of
the Poor annual collection for their
nursing home in Scranton. The Sis-
ters were very grateful for the
splendid collection.
IN THE BASKETBALL-CHEER-
LEADER ACTION: The Gators
Varsity Basketball and cheerleaders
both won first-place trophies in the
Knights of Columbus Tournament
held at Gate of Heaven during the
Thanksgiving weekend.
In the Knights of Columbus Tour-
nament at Bishop OReilly last
week, the Gator Varsity basketball
team lost to St. Nick’s-St. Mary's.
We have a chance to beat them
Monday night, the 9th and we have
the advantage of the home court.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK: Jack
Jones, son of Mr, and Mrs. Jack
Jones of Shavertown, is a member
of the Student Council, an altar boy
for Gate of Heaven Church and a
member of the varsity basketball
team. He enjoys sports and is a
great fisherman. He is undecided
about his high school choice, but
would like to attend N.C. State and
eventually become a doctor.
