A prerequisite for enrollment into the course is a current Basic Life Support Provider card from the Heart Association, the American Red Cross or EMT. Successful completion eof the course will enable ‘an individual ‘to teach Cardio-pulmonary Resuscita- tin (CPR). Grants writers, curriculum coordinators and computer coordinators are also invited to attend. Clinics THE FREE CLINIC for screening for cancer of the breast and cervix has moved from the Mercy Medical Arts Building to the Maternal and Family Health Services Building. 37 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre. This service is for women who have not had a pap smear in three years or more, or who meet income guidelines. The clinic offers a free pap test and breast examination as well as teaching self breast exami- nation;to all eligible women. Luzerne County is among the top 10 percent in the nation for cancer mortalities. Women of all ages are encouraged to call for this free examination. Early detection is the primary method for cancer control and cure. Over 100 women have been screened since the program began earlier this year.
