Caring teens
An appreciation luncheon was held recently at the
Miller, Julie Persing.
90th anniversa
. There will be a big celebration and a happy reunion
when the Family Service Association of Wyoming
Valley has its 90th Annual Meeting-Luncheon at noon
on Sept. 5, at the Sheraton-Crossgatess in Wilkes-Barre.
Returning to Wyoming Valley, to honor Family
Service as the principal speaker for this commemora-
tion, is the noted former resident, Alfred Eisenpreis.
Eisenpreis was first employed by Pomeroy’s in
Wilkes-Barre, went on to become an economic consul-
tant to three U.S. presidents, and is curretnly a vice-
president with the Newspaper Advertising Bureau.
~ Founded in 1895 and known as ‘‘United Charities”
until 1941, Family Service has chosen this 90th Anniver-
“sary meeting to present special Community Service
Awards to Judge Chester B. Muroski of the Luzerne
‘County Orphans Court and Ian Richardson, executive
vice-president of Offset Paperback Mfrs. Inc. of
Dallas.
~All 90-year old residents of Wyoming Valley have ben
invited to be Family Service’s guests at the luncheon.
Among those accepting the invitation to attend is the
the luncheon.

MRS. MARGARET WINTER,
Kingston and Harry Trebilcox, Ide-
town, presented a dual recital at
Heritage House, recently. Mrs.
Winter, who is 86 years old takes
piano lessons from Mr. Trebilcox.
Their recital included selections
from Brahms, Schubert, Mozart and
Mendolssohn.

iary recently held a summer lunch-
eon meeting at the home of Mrs.

MR. AND MRS. GILBERT
PEARSON, Maui, Hawaii, are
enjoying a visit with their youngest
daughter and son-in-law, Atty. and
Mrs. James P. Harris, III, Dallas.
The Pearsons are former resi-
dents of Butler Street, Forty Fort.
The couple was entertained
August 24 by family and friends in
hoinor of their 45th wedding anni-
versary.

MR. AND MRS. ROBERT HAG-
ENBACH, Chase, announced the
approaching marriage of their
daughter Lee Ann to Donald Keefer,
son of John Keefer, Dallas, and
Barbara Keefer, Columbus, Geor-
gia.
Miss Hagenbach is a graduate of
Lake-Lehman High School and the
Luzerne County Community College
where she received an Associate
Degree in Science. She is employed
by Wyoming Valley Family Prac-
tice Residency.
Mr. Keefer is also a graduate of
Lake-Lehman High School.’ He
attended Villanova University and
the University of Massachusetts
where he received a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Sports Manage-
ment. He is employed by Keefer
and Co., Kingston, as General Man-
ager.
The couple will be married Octo-
ber 12, 1 p.m. in Holy Trinity
Church, Nanticoke.

MR. AND MRS. ROBERT BAR-
CHESKI were recently married in
Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch.
Rev. Valentine Plevyak performed
the double ring ceremony.
Mrs. Barcheski, the former Debo-
rah Ann Zavislak, is the daughter of
Mrs. Irene Zavislak, and the late
Thomas Zavislak. A graduate of
Bishop Hoban High School, she
attended Lackawanna Junior Col-
lege. She is employed by Giles and
Ransome, Bensalem, Pa. as a pay-
roll clerk.
Mr. Barcheski, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Francis Barcheski, Shaver-
town, is a graduate of Lake-Lehman
High School and Penn State Univer-
sity. He is employed by Interna-
tional ‘Shared Services as resident
biomedical equipment technician.
Following a wedding trip to St.
Lucia :in the Caribbean, the Bar-
cheski’s are residing in Bensalem.
