DENMON Staff Correspondent Whether dining in the bar and grill or the diningroom at Hottle’s Restaurant, South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, the food is equally as delicious. Jerry Passikoff, owner and chef for 12 years of the well-known Wyoming Valley restaurant, prides himself on Hottle’s reputation for great food. He says the reason for their great food is that they offer freshness, and without that, there could be certain strong flavors or odors that would affect the taste and the appearance of the food, The entrees served at Hottle’s are also consistent in preparation. No matter how many times a diner eats a certain dish, each time he comes back and orders it, he will find it tastes the same. Hottle’s extensive menu often makes the selection of an entree difficult for the customer. For years, seafood has been a specialty from haddock, fresh trout, to a variety of shellfish prepared plain, in a casserole or in a combination dinner. For the seafood lover, Jerry’s special entree ‘Seafood Sampler” is a must have. It includes shrimp, scallops and crab meat in just the right portions, served in Jerry’s original 19-ingredient scampi sauce. For the diners who prefer beef, there is nothing more mouth- watering than the one pound T-Bone steak done exactly to order or Friday’s special, top quality thick, juicy prime rib, which cannot be surpassed anywhere. Other entrees are so numerous, the most particular customer will have a difficult time deciding. While waiting for dinner, don’t fail to order from the bar. This is the time of year for Strawberry Daiquiri’s and Hottle’s is the place to enjoy the best. Just as Hottle’s is noted for seafood, it is noted for its seafood soup and most of all, its Snapper soup flavored with sherry.
