“Hello Dolly!”, which scored the
longest run in American stage his-
tory during its Broadway run will
be presented at the Pocono Play-
house for 9 performances starting
July 2 through July 7.
All tickets at Pocono Playhouse
range from just $10 to $14. There
are 9 performances per week. Tues-
day, Wednesday, Thursday and
Friday at 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, at 5
& 9 p.m.; sunday at 6 p.m. Matinees
Wednesday and Thursday at 2 p.m.

A TRAVEL AND STUDY TOUR
of Russia and the Caucasus is
planned by the Wilkes College Divi-
sion of Continuing Education and
the Department of Language and
Literature. For 17 days, from
August 12 to August 28, members of
‘the fully escorted tour will have the
chance to visit some of the most
significant historical sights in
Moscow, Kiev, Tbilisi, Yerevan, and
Leningrad.

THE KING'S COLLEGE
CENTER for Part-Time Studies will
conduct registration for the Second
Session of summer courses from 9
a.m. to 7 p.m. July 1, 2 and 3 in the
Center’s offices at 133 N. River St.
Classes in the second summer
session begin Monday, July 8 and
end Thursday, Aug. 8. Classes meet
for 110 minute periods Mondays
through Thursdays and begin at
either 8 a.m., 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Classes
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
Wyoming Valley Chapter will be
conducting Learn to Swim classes
at the Wilkes-Barre Holiday Inn
pool during the week of August 12-
16
Interested participants must be
between the ages of 6 and 16. The
fee for participants is $10 for one
week of lessons.
Those interested should call
Safety Services at 823-7161, to pre-
register.
THE WILKES-BARRE YMCA is
offering swim lessons for grade
school age children. The child would
be screened and placed in the
once a week for 8 weeks.
The swim classes will begin the
week of July 1.
There are seven different levels in
the National YMCA Progressive
Swim Program beginning with the
Polliwog level (beginners) through
the Porpoise level (advance water-
manship) which teaches the child in
all areas of aquatics ranging from
synchronized to competitive swim-
ming. On each level the child is
taught a new stroke. Their endur-
ance is built up. and new safety
skills are added.
Registrations are now being
accepted at the Wilkes-Barre
YMCA. For further information con-

THE WILKES-BARRE YMCA is
now accepting registrations for
their Sunfish classes. The Sunfish
class is a parent-child program with
the child ranging in age from 3
months to 3 years old. The class
acquaints the child with water
through games and songs. Each
class runs for 45 minutes.
The classes begin the week of’
July 1 ending July 22. Classes are
held either once or twice a week.
Classes fill quickly so early regis-
tration is encouraged.

Seminars
COLLEGE MISERICORDIA is
sponsoring a seminar on “Ward-
robe”, Saturday, June 29 from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m.
The workshop will explain which
clothing style best suits the partici-
pants and will cover proportion and
style for all figure types. Those
attending will also learn how to
shop for clothes and save money.
Instructor Sharon Friedman
serves as senior consultant with
First Class Image Consultants, Chi-
cago, Ill., and as a color and image
consultant to 10 Boscov’s Depart-
ment Stores located in Pennsyl-
vania, New Jersey and New York.
She has taught various courses deal-
ing with personal development to
the Chicago Bar Association, sev-
eral weight loss groups, colleges, a
variety of companies and to non-
profit groups.

Requirements, deadlines and fees
for entry in all the departments
including animals, agriculture,
domestics and fine arts are listed.
The poultry and pigeons department
is back this year after being absent
because of the Avian Flu last year.
