THE WILKES-BARRE YMCA is offering swim lessons for grade school age children. The child would be screened and placed in the once a week for 8 weeks. The swim classes will begin the week of July 1. There are seven different levels in the National YMCA Progressive Swim Program beginning with the Polliwog level (beginners) through the Porpoise level (advance water- manship) which teaches the child in all areas of aquatics ranging from synchronized to competitive swim- ming. On each level the child is taught a new stroke. Their endur- ance is built up. and new safety skills are added. Registrations are now being accepted at the Wilkes-Barre YMCA. The Sunfish class is a parent-child program with the child ranging in age from 3 months to 3 years old. The class acquaints the child with water through games and songs.
