Karen Keefer, freelance journalist, is a Penn State alumna and former director of university relations at the campus. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journal- ism and has been active in many community activi- ties, including the Committee on Economic Growth (CEG) and the Salvation Army. She is also a past president of the League of Women Voters and a former board member of Leadership Wilkes-Barre. Sue Kluger is the executive director of Leadership Wilkes-Barre. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psy- in human services administration from College Miseri- ‘cordia. She is on the board of directors of the First National Bank of Wyoming and the board of trustees at Wyoming Seminary, and also holds positions in the United Way of Wyoming Valley, the Luzerne/Wyoming County Youth Services Commission, the Luzerne County Human Services Advisory Council and several other community organizations. He has published numerous telecommunications-related articles in’ reviewed jour- nals and is the holder of a telecommunications switching system patent. Paul Radick, president of Pennsylvania Millers Mutual Insurance Company, is a Penn State alumnus who holds an M.B.A. from Drexel University. Active in community affairs, he has served the United Way of Wyoming Valley in various capacities. He is also a former chairman of the Wilkes-Barre Center City Blood Council and a current member of the Wilkes- Barre Kiwanis Club. Office hours are changed Penn’s Woods Girl Scout Council Office ‘at 10 South Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre will change to their summer hours on Monday, July 1. The Council office will open at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Monda through Thursdays. The office will be closed on Fridays during July and August. The Council office will return to regular hours on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The purpose of the Olym- piad is to enchance students’ scien- tific understanding while they enjoy participation on a national level. The third grade boys and girls participated with other children throughout the nation in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades.
