DEAR AUNT PATTY: I’m 19 years old and wondering if I have a problem. When I meet a boy I like, I can’t get him off my mind. After about two weeks I start getting bored with him. This keeps on happening. Is this normal? R.J. DEAR R.J. Yes. It’s very normal. Someday when you meet that special some- one, you won't get bored after a short time. Then, just hope he doesn’t get bored with you after just two weeks! DEAR AUNT PATTY: My husband and I have a good marriage except for one problem. When he feels like going out with the boys, he just goes. If I want to go out with the girls, he gets all upset. He says a woman’s place is home. What can I do? MRS. M. DEAR MRS. M. Maybe he doesn’t trust you. Talk to him about it and tell him why you would like to go out with the girls and what you will be doing. If your intentions are good, and he has no reason to doubt you, you’ll both feel better about spending time apart. DEAR AUNT PATTY: How do you handle a pest for a neighbor? Every time we go out into the yard he comes over. This can be four times in one day. He’s constantly gossiping about the neighborhood. We’ve tried everthing to discourage him, to no avail. We don’t want to become enemies with him. Any tips? BOTHERED DEAR BOTHERED: Anonymously send him a clipping of this letter or build a high fence between your properties. DEAR AUNT PATTY: Our daughter will be attnding her first prom. My husband and I are excited and apprehensive at the same time. She’s a good girl with nice friends, but we are worried about drinking and driving on prom night. She has assured us she would never do this and we trust her, but we would like you \to please say something in your column that might change at least one teen- ager’s mind about drinking and driving on prom night. There is a warning sign in the center of Dallas and programs such as PAK and MADD have been presenting their views and sugges- tions. No matter what I say — parents will still worry. You've got to trust your children and their friends and hope your values have been instilled in them. Also it helps to pray alot. DEAR AUNT PATTY: I have a gripe. It’s not a gripe that requires an answer, but rather, a gripe that I will feel better about if I get it off my chest. I'm sick and tired of hearing about how hard the senior citizens have it. I work in a restaurant and 75 percent of the customers are senior citizens eating out several tiems a week. Most of them are too cheap to leave more than a quarter tip. Do you know who the decent tippers are? They are families with several kids who can only afford to eat out once every month or two. And who gets the free cheese and butter? What a joke. DISGUSTED DEAR DIGUSTED: I'm glad you don’t want an answer to that because I don’t really have an answer for you. However, if you feel better now that your gripe is off your chest, then I guess it was worth writing. 90 years old Gertrude Bugham was over- whelmed with a cake, flow- ers and all kinds of goodies as she celebrated her 90th birthday on Wednesday.
