I Fy 4 Heart program More than 130 people from area communities recently participated in the NPW Medical Center's ‘‘Love Your Heart Day’ program held in the NPW Learning Resources Center. Held in conjunction with February being recognized as National Heart Month, this program, is offered each year by NPW to help inform the public about what they can do to take better care of their hearts. Along with free cholesterol screenings, blood pressure checks, weight and nutrition evaluations (complete with a measure of percentage of body fat), and an evalution of heart attack risk factors, Dr. Joseph Abate, cardiologist with the Geisinger Medical Group-Wilkes Barre and NPW, presented a lecture on “Taking Care of Your Heart.” Bill Hoover, phlebotomist, is shown taking blood from Lou Dalsanto, Shavertown, for a cholesterol screening at the recent NPW ‘‘Love Your Heart Dr. Thomas W.
