DENMON Staff Correspondent While most Back Mountain resi- dents will be looking forward to the traditional New Year’s Eve celebra- tions on December 31, Thomas Ney- hard of New Goss Manor will be anticipating the celebration of something more important — his retirement from Native Textiles in Dallas. Neyhard, a Back Mountain native, has been with the company since 1947, starting at the bottom and working his way to the top as plant manager. He started to work at the plant, which was then known as Natona Mills, after he was discharged from the service. Neyhard’s first job was plant coordinator, but 13 years ago he was named plant manager. During the 37 years he has been associatd with the company, Neyhard has watched it expand into the large operation it is today. A modest man, Neyhard is reluctant to talk about how dedicated he was to the opera- tion and the major role he played in the company’s success. Native Textiles, located along Memorial Highway, Dallas, is owned by Hanson Trust, an English Company which has many diversi- fied businesses in the United States. William Pachulavich, formerly with the company’s Glen Falls plant, will assume Neyhard’s posi- tion when Neyhard retires at the end of this year. A native of Luz- erne, Pachulavich is happy to return to this area. What does Neyhard plan fo do when he retires? He and his wife plan to spend some time in Florida this winter and, in September of next year, they plan to take a second trip to Europe to visit some of the coun- tries they didn’t get to see during their last visit. The Neyhards also plan to spend more time with their grandchildren. “It gets later than you think without your realizing it,” said Neyhard. Just as Neyhard wishes his suc- cessor the very best in his new position, we wish Neyhard a happy and enjoyable retirement. Something beautiful is happening this holiday season.
