    Vets clean up
‘The Veterans Club of Penn State Wilkes-Barre recently held its annual fall clean-up day. Club
-members and other student volunteers cleaned litter from the area covering the Huntsville Dam
to Lake-Lehman High School as well as from the 50-acre Penn State campus at Lehman.

Classes are in full swing at Luzerne County Community College and the student activities
program off to a good start with the recent election of officers for the college's Student
Government Association. Those who will be serving as campus leaders governing student

versity of Scranton National Alumni
Society recently held an alumni
_ reception and champagne brunch at
‘the Sheraton-Crossgates in Wilkes-
Barre.
In addition, a Mass for alumni
was celebrated at St. Mary’s
Church, 130 S. Washington Ave.
Rev. J.A. Panuska, S.J., Univer-
sity president, celebrated the Mass
and addressed the alumni at the
reception.
Angelo P. Grasso is president of
the Luzerne Chapter. Officers
include Charles P. Jacien and Mar-
tina Martin.

students information on the 1984

Mrs. Lillian Lockman and her five
year old son Timmy also took part
in the presentation. Timmy is a
victim of ‘Elephant Man’s Disor-
der”, a tumor disease. Through
Crippled Children Association which
is funded by United Way, Timmy
has received care and operations
necessary for his well being.

Club plans dance :
Six student clubs at Penn State Wilkes-Barre are co-sponsoring a Halloween Dance on Friday,
Oct. 26, from 9 p.m. to midnight, in the Student Commons Building on the Lehman Campus.
The event, which is open to the public, will feature a costume contest for which prizes will be
awarded to the funniest, the scariest, and the most original costumes. Ron Dorris, disc jockey,
and his light show will provide entertainment. Refreshments will be available. Admission is $1.00
for those wearing costumes, $2.00 for singles, $3.00 for couples. Shown making plans for the

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Advisory Board has begun planning with campus officials for a
busy year, including a November 6 dedication of the new Commons Annex at the Lehman
