I’ve got a hunch they’ll both do

— 1 guess Wilkes will be for-
feiting all of the dual meets it
won with Kurt Rowlett in the
lineup since he was declared
ineligible. He attended another
school before he came to Wilkes.
His former coach is at Brown
now and he tipped the Harvard
coach of the infraction and he
passed it along to another EIWA
coach. I'm a little surprised John

— I’ve got to wonder about all
of the so called recruiting
experts ranking the top 100
the country. They’re not the most
reliable sources. Joe Terranova,
a self proclaimed expert,
recently ranked his top 100 and
conspicuously missing was Dante
Wiley, perhaps Pennsylvania’s
top prospect. If he’s not deserv-
ing of being in the top 100, then
AT&T and Bell of PA won't
request another rate increase
within the next six months.
— Most football coaches
believe it takes two to three
years before you can accurately
determine how successful your
recruiting class was. There's a
big adjustment for the incoming
freshmen.
— The Jets trading Richard
Todd was ludicrous. That organi-
zation has done some stupid
things within the last 14 months,
starting with the firing of Walt
Michaels.
— With Lake-Lehman in the
District AA it’s the other teams
against the Black Knights. Sorta
looks like a dual meet with
Coach Ed Ladamus’ charges
taking on the rest of the field.
— Had an opportunity to
exchange some football talk with
Millersville Coach Gene Carpen-
ter over the weekend of the
Eastern Wrestling League Cham-
pionships. He’s a very sharp
individual and sound coach. He’s
also doing a splendid job as
Millersville’s athletic director. I
hope he comes into the area after
some of local talent.
— Did you happen to catch my
Tennessee Vols downing Ken-
tucky last week in roundball.
Vols’ Coach Don DeVoe has a 7-4
record against Joe B. Hall which
is one of the best against usually
‘the best team money can buy.’
I’ve said for sometime, DeVoe is
one of the best at getting an
ordinary team to perform above
its given ability.
