Taxes are lowered
Kingston Township supervisors
announced they will lower the 1984
property tax rate from seven mills
to five mills. The announcement
was made at a special budget meet-
ing held Nov. 23.
The supervisors were able to
fower the: rate because the town-
ship’s one percent earned income
tax will generate more money in
1984 as the result of the rising
incomes of township residents. Half
the proceeds of that tax go to the
Dallas School District.
Supervisors will hold one more
meeting to vote on the budget a
second time.

John Molski, son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Molski and a

look like he’s ice-skating.
But, actually John is show-
ing his fellow classmates
some smooth moves he
learned in karate class.

The Dallas School Board voted
Nov. 25 to fire John Gabriel, the
school distriet’s building and
after 11 hearings held since Septem-
* The board voted 8-1 to fire
Gabriel, with Patricia Gregory cast-
ing the single no-vote. Gregory, who
sought re-election to the board, was
defeated in this month’s General
Election and will not be returning to
the board following its Dec. 5 reor-
ganization meeting.
The board voted to dismiss
Gabriel in August of this year,
however, the 36-year-old Harveys
Lake man argued that he had not

been given warning or a hearing.
In a resolution dated Sept. 13, the
board charged Gabriel with incom-
petency and neglect of organiza-
tional and supervisory duties and
voted on that same day to notify
him of its intentions to dismiss him,
pending outcome of the hearings.
Hearings for Gabriel began on
Sept. 15 and he remained at his
position of building and grounds
supervisors through 11 such meet-
ings.
Forty nine findings regarding
Gabriel’s incompetency and neglect
of duty were listed by Shawn
Murphy, board members and per-
sonnel committee chairman.
