Jane is the very proud mother of a one year old son,
Jonathan, who has been known to spend time in the
office busily taking books off the shelves and even
taking a nibble or two out of a pamphlet.
Jan and her husband, Atty. Merton Jones, who have
been Back Mountain residents for over 20 years, are the
parents of three. Morgan and Becky Jones have
graduated from college now and-12-year old Matthew
will be starting in the Dallas Junior High this fall.
Through the years when her children were growing up,
Jan was always a willing volunteer being involved in
such activities as Women of Rotary, Dallas Junior
Womens Club, Meals-on-Wheels, the Library Auction
and the Junior League where she worked on establishing
the original Tel-Med system.
It was her background in community service that
made Jan the ideal choice for her present position

couple of years when it is predicted that, nationally, one
out of five children will have a stepparent.”
Statistics like these point out where people need help,
according to Jane Becker. Interestingly enough, figures
on the use of the Tel-Med Health Tapes, which average
about 6,000 monthly, also contain a message about our
local population’s needs and interests. The Top Ten
presently are ‘‘Menstruation,” “Tommy Gets His Ton-
sils Out,” ‘Marijuana,” “Where Did I Come From,
Mama,’ ‘Teen years-Age of Rebellion,”” ‘‘Masturba-
tion,” “Herpes,” “Pregnancy,” and ‘Homesexuality.”
New tapes being requested currently are “A.L.LD.S.,” :
“Poison Ivy,” “Tracheotomy,’’ and “Diet Pills.”
