    Harveys Lake Building Burns
. An unoccupied building that once served as a switch-
ing depot for a trolley line between Wilkes-Barre and
Harveys Lake was damaged by fire on July 16. The
building had been vacant for some time but had recently
been leased by the Dale Sutton family from Lehman.
The Suttons had moved most of their personal
belongings into the house, but had decided the previous
week not to move into the house when they found the
well was dry.
The family’s belongings, which were destroyed in the
blaze, were uninsured.
®, penvisors Discuss Sludge
Jackson Township supervisors will have the final say
concerning sludge disposal in the township.
At a meeting of the township planning commission on
July 18, action was delayed on zoning amendments since
the commission can only make recommendations to the
supervisors concerning the problem.
A Pennsylvania State University community housing
and planning specialist reported that a township may
regulate sludge disposal but to do away with it would be
unconstitutional.
Township residents are concerned with possible health
hazards.

No farewells were spoken,
No time to say good bye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
If tears could build a stairway,
And heartaches make a lane,
We could walk the pathway to
heaven
And bring you back again.
